"Shocker"?! Oh dear, that's just heinous. I actually quite liked "Growler." It was a nice follow-on to the EA-6B. Of course, I'm still not over the F-22 being dubbed "Raptor." It's not a bad name per se following Eagle and Fighting Falcon, but it's a bit generic, and my perceptions are colored by a clueless newspaper reporter who claimed the plane was named after the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. That bit of idiocy still annoys me now, years later. "Lightning II" had history, dammit. Oh well, it could be worse...I've heard for a little while they called it "Rapier."

If you take the word Growler in naval terminology, Growler is basically a turd. The future operators, being naval aviators, didn't like it. And think of all these KATN names we'll never going to see again thanks to the PC police: Tomcat, Intruder/Prowler, Viking, Crusader, Skywarrior, Corsair, Anything-cat.

It's funny how PC you blokes are up their. I mean, we named a strike jet after the local constabulary. Although, I'm not sure how the two female Nav's (WSO)would respond to being called Pig drivers? Hmmm. ;)

Yeah I know Drop. They interupt "24" or some other violent TV show to cover a car chase live as breaking news. Make us watch it til the idiot running runs out of gas and gives up. And in the rare case where he crashes or thankfully gets shot by the police, THEY PAN THE CAMERA AWAY!!! At least if your going to interupt let us see. What makes it even funnier is immediately after a commercial break for a movie like "Kill Bill" comes on!
