Subject: Jesse Jackson: can't call yourself a black man if you vote against healthcare bill

This won't cause a ripple in DC. Just imagine however the resulting firestorm if for example Newt Gingrich said: You're not a real white man if you vote for the healthcare bill... ---------- link Updated November 19, 2009 The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Wednesday night that any black lawmaker who votes against President Obama's sweeping health care overhaul isn't really black, the Hill newspaper reported. The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night injected race into the national debate on health care, saying any black lawmaker who votes against President Obama's sweeping overhaul isn't really black, the Hill newspaper reported. "We even have blacks voting against the health care bill," Jackson reportedly said at a Congressional Black Caucus reception Wednesday night honoring the 25th anniversary of the civil rights leader's run for president. "You can't vote against health care and call yourself a black man," the Hill reported him saying. The remark was a clear shot at Rep. Artur Davis, D-Ala., the only member of the CBC to vote against the House version of the health care legislation. Davis refused to return fire against Jackson. "One of the reasons that I like and admire Rev. Jesse Jackson is that 21 years ago he inspired the idea that a black politician would not be judged simply as a black leader," Davis said in a written statement to the newspaper. "The best way to honor Rev. Jackson's legacy is to decline to engage in an argument with him that begins and ends with race." Jackson later reportedly said that he "didn't call anybody by name and I won't."

I love the way Davis essentially said, "Jackson, you're an irrevalent race-baiter, so go screw yourself"--but did it in such a friendly tone.  Damning with faint praise.

If MLK was alive, he would pound Jackson senseless.  It sickens me that a great man such as MLK can be shot dead, but fools like "Reverend" Jackson can still be drawing breath.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on $^&*day night injected race into...

You can basically fill in the blank.  Jackson and Al Sharpton have made carriers injecting race into pretty much everything.  That's why in the U.S. blacks can pretty much make any comment they want, but if a white person says it, their racist.  Here's an example...  I've seen a political cartoon back in the day where George Bush was drawn as being a monkey.  I've recently read about a google image search where if you look up Michelle Obama, there's a pic on some website that rearranges her face to look like a monkey.  The Bush cartoon got no reaction whatsoever.  The Obama pic got all sorts of media coverage and dubbed as being racist.  It reminded me of the firefighters who couldn't get promoted because no blacks who took the test scored high enough, so the test was thrown out.  So the white and hispanic firefighters had to sue.  I'm not saying that racism doesn't exist, but I am saying that I see the race card being used WAY too much!

"You [Black men] can't vote against health care and call yourself a black man,"

but you just....Where can I go and learn the non-racist rules? I don't have all day to obsess with the color of men's skin, but I don't want people thinking I'm a a racist...different color than I already am...if you know what I mean.

If you're white, you're a racist.  That's really all you need to know.

Well, in Jackson's mind anyway.
