Former mayor Rudy: ?Returning some of the Guantanamo detainees to New York City for trial, specifically Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, has now brought us full circle ? we have regressed to a pre-9/11 mentality with respect to Islamic extremist terrorism,? former Mayor Rudy Giuliani said in a statement. ?Khalid Shaikh Mohammed should be treated like the war criminal he is and tried in a military court. He is not just another murderer, or even a mass murderer. He murdered as part of a declared war against us?America.? Rudy said the same on Cavuto this afternoon. I think as soon as the sheilk's usefulness expires, so should he. Quietly, painfully, and anonymously. Not another 5 year trial with casualties.

Holy Cow!!!

Just for not purchasing health care?

Nah, you're confused:  Perhaps the images of some crimes committed in America presented as having something to do with American and German WWII wartime strategies threw you off.

I stay throwed-off...That's not my favorite Battlefield 1942 mission???

I see it like this. 8 years of horrible is worse than 1 years of horrible. 80 years of horrible is worse than 8.
If people refuse to make the distinction between putting on uniforms, building command structures, fighting by civilized rules of war, having political structures for negotiations, etc...a stone cold, head chopping, jetjacking murderer, then it's no small wonder we're still there.

Okay, I've seen the terrible photos. I've looked the devil in the eye...The choice between winning a war in Afghanistan and being no-worse-than-a-terrorist is still a no-brainer.

DA also doesn't mention a few things:

1) The alternatives to Hiroshima and Nagasaki:  starve the Japanese to death, or invade and kill everyone over the age of seven.  Maybe less.  Because they weren't about to surrender.  (I'm sure he considers "ten million die for the Emperor" to be rhetoric.  Several thousand sailors off the coast of Okinawa would beg to differ.  If they were still alive, anyway.)

2) The lynching parties shown are over.  Civil Rights ended it.  I just watched King's speech in Washington, and I noted some white faces in that crowd--Evil Nasty Republican Charlton Heston among them.  Reid today mentioned that standing against Obamacare is like standing for slavery and Jim Crow.  He neglects to mention that the ones who fought hardest for slavery, hardest against Reconstruction, and hardest for Jim Crow were Democrats.

Anyone who tries to lynch someone today gets arrested and usually gets the death penalty.  Which they should.

3) The Dawes Severalty Act was what reduced Indian reservations.  It was repealed in the 1930s by FDR.  Many reservations have reclaimed land taken from them by Dawes.  Short of everyone moving out of the US back to their homeland of origin, which itself was probably taken from someone, I'm afraid that's the best deal anyone's going to get at this time.

Yes, the US has made a number of mistakes in its past, because, y'know, we're human.  But you know what's different about us? We acknowledge they happened and made steps to correct them.  We don't hold the sins of the past against the generations of the present.  I'm constantly stunned by the fact that DA apparently is so utterly appaled by his own country, yet has put on the uniform to defend it.  That's like saying, "Well, I hate what the Nazis are doing, but I'll join the Wehrmacht."  That's the only answer I can come up with, seeing that his response to my question--"Are we any better than the Nazis?"--is to post a mushroom cloud, a map of reservations, and lynching parties.  I guess we are no better, except of course that we elected Obama.

As horrific as the images are of the abysmal treatment of Americans of African heritage, they cannot be compared to that of Europe's Jews from 1941 onwards.

You are right. In terms of numbers, scale and duration what Black Americans suffered in America is worse. However, I do not in anyway think what happened to the Jews was right either.

Is it not the Black(sigh...slash)American community this is killing the Black American community moreso than any other race, religion, color, or overseas contingency operation?

I don't want to stir a racial debate...honestly, but let's let today apply to today as well as history does.

KSM - A close-range sniper bullet to the neck, cremate his remains and dump it in international water. We can all sleep with that.

Trying to find a source where six million African-Americans were persecuted, rounded up, and gassed in less than five years.   Can't seem to find one.

Or a Wannsee Protocol in American government history (something that spells out "Let's kill 'em all").

Or where Germans fought the bloodiest war in their history against other Germans to free the Jews.

Or where Germans ran an underground railroad for Jews at the risk of their own lives, and generally succeeded.

Or how Germany was bitterly divided for 60 years over whether or not Jews should be made free.

Or that there was a political party founded in Germany whose aims were emancipation of Jews.

So, no, DA, there is no comparison, and only a complete racist who has little knowledge of his own country's history, besides what Howard Zinn and Jesse Jackson have spewed, would make such a comparison.  You are so emotionally tied up in your own skin color that you simply cannot and will not accept the fact that the majority of Americans are not racists, nor will you forgive or forget the sins of the past--because they make you feel like a warm and fuzzy victim.

That you wear the same uniform as my African-American friends is an insult to them.  They never asked for a handout, only for acceptance and respect.  And they have it.  They don't have to whine about something that ended at the very least 40 years ago, because their skin color doesn't define them any more than it defines me.

If you hate this country so much, do the rest of us a favor and LEAVE.  Apparently the United States isn't good enough for DA, so go somewhere where they will respect your scintillating genius.

During that same period, WW II, there were millions more Blacks by about an order of magnitude, living in America under oppressive racist segregation who were treated less than human. THAT HAPPENED. That continued for decades after. Before that, there was actually slavery and again, millions more lived under that oppression for hundreds of years. The affects of that on Black people in America have been far worse than the aftermath of the Holocaust on Jews who received a Country and compensation in return. The following photo was taken during WW II...

No but I'll show you Black men who were sent to fight to provide freedom for others that they did not enjoy themselves at home...

Nope not emotional at all. At least no more so than the Jewish Americans who will not allow their past to be forgotten either. That I mention these things is bothering you is only because deep down inside you know it's the truth. I never discussed what percentage of Americans are racist. I suspect we all are to a certain extent even me! But that wasn't at all what I was talking about. I was merely showing you the truth that the United States is in no moral position to judge and that all nations did bad things during WW II and during war in general. You have this fairy tale understanding of war and morality Sentinel because you have never practiced it. I'm trying to show you the difference between perception and reality. Read the post back to yourself and ask who is being emotional? I think you should consider that the pot is calling the kettle black.

I'm going to forgive these last words because I realize you are losing your cool and it's more related to ignorance rather than arrogance or malice. I never "whined" about anything. I merely told you the fact that the Black Holocaust in America was both wider in scope with regard to lives lost/affected and longer in duration/suffering than was the Nazi Jewish holocaust. Moreover, I mentioned it in the context o

DA said " Black Holocaust in America"

Moral Relativism is the sign of the loser in a discussion.  And as a human being.

/not a jew , just a mongrel from Texas.
//And would that be North or South America, considering that in North America the population grew even w/o external replenishment unlike what happened in South America.
///Holocaust! Genocide! of group X,Y,&  Z.  Damn those late to the bandwagon.
