Well coming from the UK FS has got one thing right they came out of the recession quicker than us (UK) and I believe a lot of what he has to say is true. They have there own nuke tec which we don't have they have, an economy based on other thing rather than debt (the UK) and they don't have the CHAV culture (Dads being beaten to death for defending there children) that we have over here. Overall I think FS is trying to form a balanced view of the current status of the world. Look at this board it's amazingly bias toward US/Brit/Western views. You should all try an open your eyes accept different cultures and view, disagree but only with true information and facts rather than my dicks bigger than your dick when you have other opinions. While I accept the UK still has some things going for it, Saudi Arabia is less corrupt with a more popular government. France, Germany, and Russia are better financially and the whole world is better morally. Capitalism is beginning to suck big time. I vote for a democratically selected socialist government when I say "socialist govenment" I mean within the constitution there would be rules where as rather than the rich get richer and the poor get poorer there would be limits, people would be rewarded for being top of there class however there wouldn't be rewarded for doing nothing (like the current b(w)ankers of the day. For instance in the UK the chief ex of the company gets 700 time more than the Joe Bloggs on the work floor but the chief ex do rather little over here it may be different in other parts of the world. Hard work would be a positive thing but sloth wouldn't . For all you people in America that doesn't mean communism (I hope you understand the different between communism and socialism) Look at the American uproar to free health for all 'disgusting' we can only hope that one day America will join us in a civilised society. Please America join us...

Pound sand, comsymp.  Keep your worker's paradise to yourself, and we'll keep our shining city on a hill to ourselves.  Each to his own.

Saudi Arabia is less corrupt? Less corrupt than what? Chicago? I love the way you noodle heads try to sneak something absurd into a conversation.

You are just sick to think a statement like that would  influence any thinking person to join you.

Wherever you were educated, your folks are entitled to a refund, with interest.

Oh wait! To do that they would have to acknowledge you.

Saudi Arabia less corrupt with a more popular government?

Stop drinking the bong water. The only reason the house of Saud is still in power is their perpetual kowtowing to the Wahabiists.

In response to your thread some issues need to be clarified Carlos.

1. Britain is not capitalist and hasn't been for a very, very long time.
2. Capitalism is the origin of Britain's strength.
3. Capitalism hasn't widened the gap between rich and poor it has dramatically reduced it.
4. The source of many of Britain's social problems are it's political economy.

Carlos, I couldn't agree more.

Give me your money.  Others need it more than you, y'know.  Don't worry--I'll leave you just enough to starve.

Well that is you and FS view, which i do respect, but do not necessarily agree wtih.

It is probably one of the few left on the internet that offers a different view too the narrative of others out there, though that might be changing, it might soon come in line with the thought police views on how things ought to be seen with controlled information?

Also, the UK being less corrupt then the popular house of Saud? Apparently Bin Laden never got that memo. I suppose when you can thank your sovereign for allowing you too keep your hands for a minor infraction or your head for a crime that would see you let off here in the west within a years time, with perhaps a street being named after the criminal, then yeah...  i suppose that would tend too make one a little more appreciative too your local despot?

France, Germany and Russia being our betters financially (I wonder who has helped them in the past and who provided the business models for them too successfully emulate? Damn those Liberal UK/US Capitalists, should have left those countries in squalor following the world wars and subsequent cold war!), and as well as the world being better morally because of their existence is a nice politically correct view for you too have if one tends to neglect the past. Don't get me wrong, i really respect and admire the peoples of and the histories for the three countries you have mentioned as our currently modern allies and partners, but other than my mentioning that, what in the world is your point in the last sentence of the paragraph? I am a little confused...

The wonderful thing about capitalism is that it is inherently messy and when left alone in the normal ebb and flow of economic cycles, has a way of self correcting itself while creating new and previously unheard of products or methods. Now as a sop to your beliefs, Socialism might have some things going for it, but in my view, what it is not is dynamic in creativity... but rather more protectionist, more stagnate and more retrograding too an economy!

It's not a feature but a bug in the system that is only allowed too exist due to an innate human psychological condition otherwise known as political cronyism which used to only be exposed in thanks to a once free press. Socialism has the same bug in it, but no inherent way of correcting it other than too simp
