Gen 2 night vision is ok, the US has so many machinists etc, if India has 40 million illegal weapons, don't u think sympathetic or greedy machinists couldn't make fully automatic conversions right here. I think u r wrong. My assertion is that the US is the easiest place to set up a terrorist camp is true. Look at Mendocino county just north of me. Even the police are allegedly in drug trade. The fact that u can get illegal drugs in US easily again portends that illegal activity in US is easy and convenient to pursue. Given the vastness of the country and the resources a well financed group need not train in Pakistan.

Gen II is still restricted, though not as sensitive, but still very expensive. Gen II doesn't make as good sighting tool as Gen III due to limited magnification and resolution. You have to see it to understand the difference.

There is nothing we can do to prevent evil people from using their learned skill to do evil things. If they want to construct their own automatic weapons, they can do it anywhere. But I can tell you that it is foolish to modify a civilian rifle into automatic one. You literally have to rebuild the receiver, the bolt carrier and trigger group, and there is no guarantee that you'll do it right and malfunction-free. It's not as easy as you think. If you are talking about how easily it is to get illegal things in the US, you should check your facts better, because it is easy to get many illegal things in any part of the world if enough cash is supplied via the right link. Marijuana farms in Canada are still largely undisturbed, and Mexican gangs are still fighting for smuggling routes to the US.

Like I said, you can buy few guns and some ammo. Get some tactical supply and a piece of land in remote area. Then you collect a bunch of radicals and do some military and martial arts training. You can claim that you are running a terrorist training camp. We'll see how effective your boys are when FBI HRT and BATFE SRT come in from three directions, two on the ground with armor vehicles, and the third one drop from Blackhawk helicopters, in the middle of freaking night.

What really worries me is the Christian fundamentalist groups in US, example Timothy McVeigh- they had access to getting bombs - big ones. Islamic groups are a threat, but they can be easily identified.

Christian fundamentalists have been the majority of the population for most of America's history. We have not seen a single religious massacre killing thousands in the way millions of Indian Muslims and Hindus were slaughtered in religious massacres during the partition of India. Christians remain the vast majority of this country's population. Timothy McVeigh was an avowed agnostic, as your Wikipedia link makes clear, and his beef wasn't with the religion of the occupants of the Alfred P. Murrah building - it was with the Federal Government, which he felt was oppressing the American people. On 9/11, Muslim terrorists killed several times more people in one terrorist attack than had been killed in all of the previous terrorist attacks in this nation's history. If the 1993 WTC terror attack (again by Muslim terrorists who professed to be acting on Allah's orders) had succeeded in toppling on WTC tower upon another, 50,000 people would have been killed in one go.

US has seen the civil war due to social reasons- slavery, the Hindu Moslem bloodfest in India still is prevalent, but not in major urban areas(intepret-educated). And yes there have been mutinies and such shootouts in most armies. But the issue was setting up a terrorist paintball camp is still easier than most realize -right here in the US. ANd it seems to be increasing. And Obama's key concern initially was the domestic right wing Christian terrorist, and is still the #1 homegrown terror threat today.

Most weapons are legally available in South Carolina. Also the Mexican drug cartels seem to buy weapons from here itself. I say of all countries in the world it would be easiest to set up a terrorist training camp in the US as all material is legally available raising minimum eyebrows. The heavy stuff of course is not easily available, as in most places.

They are not legally available to felons, mental patients, illegal aliens, terrorists, etc.

It is an ignorant statement that McVeigh was a Christian.

The Civil War was 150 years ago, and it had nothing to do with religion. We weren't fighting slaves either - the war was fought between white guys - one side for partition, the other side against. In comparison, India has seen major religious and ethnic wars just about every century throughout its several thousand year history. Heck - most Indians are the descendants of white-skinned Aryans who massacred, enslaved or demoted to the lower castes the original dark-skinned Dravidians who inhabited Harappa and Mohenjo Daro.

What the heck is a terrorist paintball camp? Is that like a terrorist cooking class? Or a terrorist math lesson? Ogabe is playing up the chimera of right wing terrorists to see if he can seize power Soviet-style. My guess is that he will fail and fail miserably. The real question is whether the American people are going to believe Ogabe or their own lyin' eyes. Based on Ogabe's miserable poll numbers at this early stage of his presidency, I think most will believe their lyin' eyes.
