Mr. Schiff has been one of the more honest economists predicting the
economic crisis and now plans to run against Mr. Dodd who chairs the Senate Banking committee. Mr. Schiff's ideas are perhaps the last hope to save the US economic dominance.

Personal agenda aside, I don't think Peter Schiff will win, and I don't think his investment strategy apart from gold is risk free. He doesn't seem to understand the level of government meddling and manipulation in China, but his bet on HK and Nikei is certainly low risk move.
 
He still doesn't have enough publicity against Christopher Dodd, and certainly way less than Linda McMahon in both fame and money. He is fighting an uphill fight and does not have full conservative support. Even if he could win Republican nominee, he still has to fight in a liberal state.

The stimulus is not working, 10.2% unemployment. I was reading an article about Ireland, everyone is leaving(I mean thosethat are unemployed). Smilar situation here in 12months when all unemployment benefits run out and inflation sets in, then the benefits if extended will be worthless. Canada, Australia, NZ, Singapore, INdia, China maybe the new migrant destination for millions of unemployed Americans. I guess the best job in the US will be working for the government or its cronies that get TARP money. This is headed into an Oligarchy -bail out for buddies. Mussolini would be proud.
