EW3 has posted on the Fighters board a few times, and I've seen RaptorZ lurking around.  I've seen V2, Platypus, Bigfella, Doggtag, and RMClimber have been here on the US board quite a few times.  Not sure about the others--AK's been gone a long while, as has Ehran.  Plutarch probably quit because after Bush was out of office, he had no one to accuse of having Constitution-burning parties and war crimes any more.  My understanding is that Herald got the bannination stick, though I don't know about that for sure.

People change.  I stopped posting on SP for a long time because of Real Life getting in the way, and I've quit a few times (usually after DA manages to piss me off to the point that I start wanting to throw my monitor against the wall, or when Chinese posters start their "we invented the wheel and everything since" crap, or when Herc gleefully predicted the end of the US--oh, wait...he still does that).  I always manage to find my way back.  Where else can I learn all I ever wanted to know and more about the Rafale, and bitch about Obama?

I guess I've found some sympathy for my liberal friends.  It is kinda nice to have a place to blow off some steam.

Add FJV...and subtract any GRUM reincarnations...and me too, honestly.
Without the above posters I may have very well went through my entire adult life without ever re-reading the Constitution and delving into the federalist papers, etc.
Thank you so much to these posters. It has honestly changed my life.
I belong nowhere near that list.

Commercial real estate slowed down, so my radius has grown, a lot more traveling in the last couple of years.

Panther,

I'm still about, but I mainly lurk. I know where AlbanyRifles, S-2, Shek & quite a few other SP alumni are. I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you.
On a not really related note, some considerable time ago I promised to post a Vietnam War reading list. Apologioes for not doing so. If you follow the magic link you will find an excellent selection of books. Not every one is a gem, but most are very good (chose some meself). When you've finished having a look, check out the noticeboard that the bookstore belongs to. You might see a familiar face or two.

If you have any questions about specific books or about SP alumni I might know, shoot me a line at bigfella.1969@gmail.com

I'm here -  mainly reading these days, laughing at the French posters and at DA's tone-deaf, awestruckly dumb, and obliviously blind watercarrying for  - to paraphrase Lt Gonville Bromhead - the possibly talented amateur in the White House, though I emphasize the amateur more than talented. Talented in the sense that he can give a pretty speech, run roughshod over the Constitution with getting MSM compliance rather than challenges, and stack his admin with a coterie of fine young Communists. But I have yet to feel that tingle up my leg, other than the urge to go relieve myself in disgust at what the One is doing to this country.

HopeyChangeyFeelieGoodie my be balm for hte DA souls of the world, but it doesnt solve an unemployment crisis of over 11% real unemployed in my State of Illinois, but at least dickie durban and rollie plantation burris can vote to keep on funding pedophile/prostituting Acorn, he can dither while OUR troops die in Afghanistan, he can try to viollate the 1st amendment, raise funds while savaging his contributors on Wall Street, and blame 43 on all of his problems (getting a bit tiresome and whiny to keep hearing athat one for the 2000th time, isnt it? )

swhitebull -  disjointed rant, but good for my touchiefeelinghopiechangey soul.

I miss a lot of people here. I still read SP a lot but rarely post. You forgot Final Historian (another favorite) I have learned a great deal from Whitebull, final historian and a few others here. I had a great affinity for AK he and I used to troll MSA sites in the 90's

I still love SP though

Regardless if you are right or left, there comes a point where one feels everything is beyond your control and that feeling of ineffectiveness is not a pleasant feeling. For me I disliked Bush, voted for Obama, and now I dislike Obama. Makes one start to question their own competence and thinking. Even though I am left of center, I don't dismiss my conservative SP members insights. There are some smart people on this board, I have learned alot, and have revisited some of my own headstrong opinions.
