Subject: Are Secular Fundamentalists (including liberals) Enemies of God?
CJH    10/10/2009 3:30:37 PM
"Secular... fundamentalism is the belief system which buttresses the creed of political and economic liberalism just as the Biblically-based beliefs of Judaism and Christianity buttress the creed of political and economic conservatism." Enemy of God - Someone who has willfully rejected the God of the Bible, is actively opposed to obedience to the will of the God of the Bible and actively strives to suppress God's influence over the public life of their society.

Most religions are autocratic or socialist. CHristianity is neither but it definitely tends towards socialism, its a bad comparison but Jesus died for humaity he did not charge an insurance premium.

Which brand and which period of Christianity are you talking about? Not Evangelical churches or Church of Later Day Saints for sure.

I migrated to escape repression and curfew at my home (not home country but at home). I was inspired to move to America not by the pope, the bill of rights, money- but by John Belushi and Dan Akroyd from their Bible- the movie "Animal House". Toga Toga!!!

Yup, thanks for characterising our position so succinctly. I'll put it another way ... feel free to follow your beliefs about being a subject to an imaginary supernatural being if you like, but kindly desist from shoving it down other people's throat.

Yeah, like those pesky Atheists always try to spread their message. To be honest, I'm sick and tired of hearing their zealous frenzy about a mechanical universe and how everything starts from a singularity.

Christianity is the seat of freedom.

Nazi Germany was secular in the sense that Hitler took the place of God in the minds of the people there.
Christianity have reformed and reinvented itself many times since 30 Year War that decimated Central Europe. Some early Pilgrims escaped England because they can't stand the stench of institutionalized religious/political power. You can hardly call Christian is the seat of freedom when the Pope sent inquisitors to torture people. You can hardly call Christianity the seat of freedom when Catholicism and Protestantism were used by hostile political entities for power grab. Of course, you can't say that when tens of thousands were massacred for being in the wrong church. Nonetheless, it indeed pushed a lot of people who had enough of the kind of crap in old Europe to America and formed 13 colonies of England.......

Nazis are cultists who are pagan. They deem swastika a Teutonic/Aryan symbol, not a Christian one. Many European nations have cross in their flag to reveal that they are indeed Christians. That is not the case for Nazis.

Yet another living proof that repressive parents brood children with pathological mental disorder.

Le Zookeeper    U see Atheists in stret corners singing, I love the singularity? Haha   10/10/2009 10:32:10 PM
Everynight when I leave a bar in downtown San Jose I get invited to goto Church, various enticements like business network, friends, just come on down. Atheists usually do not organize, i luv it when the hare krishnas come out in san jose, with the rap music scene they look and sound like a rap band in orange. But u see hinduism got one scientific fact correct.

There were way greater religions than Islam or Judeo Christian beliefs ages before(these religions only expanded due to jihad and crusades-not inspiration). The religions of the book were used as politial tools to expand the influence of the emperors, churches etc. The expansion of Christianity and Islam was basically an abomination on mankind-it was violent, coercive, manipulative and wrong. Very UnAmerican. Believe or die.

However no religion is proven beyond doubt, except for variations of hinduism called santanam dharma= they actually new the age of the univese 3000 years ago-while there are many scientific myths in the Bible. No other religion comes close to that in scientific data. Even then I remain secular. To each his own.

do not know the meaning of life. Life is jus one big taste test. Wine tasting, beertasting, cheese tasting, women tasting, auto tasting, vacation spot sense tasting. You go to church while I go through life with my tongue hanging out.

You know the meaning of enjoyment, pleasure and indulgence, but not meaning of life.

To have a meaningful life, you must reproduce and procreate.

The life form who failed to do that are the extinct ones.

And, no, everybody dies.

Wait, I got confused. Are you trying to shove us Hinduism or Atheism? Also, Atheists do have an organization. It's called Communism, and look what they've done in China.
