You are a moron.  You just said that 40,000 americans die in auto accidents a day.....and then you turn around and say save 40,000 americans annually.  Are you even aware of what youre saying?  Just STFU.

---ohmyscience ---You are a moron. You just said that 40,000 americans die in auto accidents a day. and then you turn around and say save 40,000 americans annually---Really? Where did I say that?

My quote in its entirety:  ---Twenty-eight people eh? Multiply that number by FOUR and you have the number of Americans killed every day on American Highways (approximately 40,000)

REMOVE AUTOMOBILES FROM THE ROADS TODAY; save 40,000 AMEICAN LIVES ANNUALLY!!!!!---

I know basic math can be challenging so I am going to hold your hand and walk you through this. Are you ready boyo? Do you have your crayon and child-safe non-toxic paper?

Good; let us begin the lesson:

4 (my number) * [* is the symbol for multiplication] 28 (the number provided by Necro/Herk the Jerk) = 112 deaths / 1 day

Simplified: 4 * 28 = 112

Are you with me so far sweetheart?

There are approximately 365 days in the year.

So (112 deaths / 1 day) * (365 days) = 40,880 deaths/1 year

Simplified: 112 * 365 = 40,880

Now I stated that APPROXIMATELY 40,000 Americans die on the road each year in automobile related accidents. The word in ALL CAPS in the previous sentence is an important word.

This figure can be verified with the Department of Transportation (DOT) here:

H--p://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/facts-research/facts-figures/analysis-statistics/cmvfacts.htm

2006 fatalities:  42,642

2006 injuries: 2,575,000

2005 All registered vehicles: 247,421,120

Pick a date between 1999 and 2008 and the number of fatalities ranges between 30,000 and 45,000. In other words, every TWO to THREE years, more Americans are killed in automobile related accidents than all the combat operations during the entirety of the Vietnam War.
---ohmyscience ---Are you even aware of what youre saying? Just STFU.---Am I aware of what I am saying and what I said?  Yes. Unlike you, not only can I add and subtract, multiply and divide, I can also read plain English.

Education is a wonderful thing boyo; I suggest you acquire one.

PHOENIX ? About a dozen people carrying guns, including one with a military-style rifle, milled among protesters outside the convention center where President Barack Obama was giving a speech Monday — the latest incident in which protesters have openly displayed firearms near the president.

Gun-rights advocates say they're exercising their constitutional right to bear arms and protest, while those who argue for more gun control say it could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday's event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested.

The man with the rifle declined to be identified but told The Arizona Republic that he was carrying the assault weapon because he could. "In Arizona, I still have some freedoms," he said.

Phoenix police Detective J. Oliver, who monitored the man at the downtown protest, said police also wanted to make sure no one decided to harm him.

"Just by his presence and people seeing the rifle and people knowing the president was in town, it sparked a lot of emotions," Oliver said. "We were keeping peace on both ends."

There are a lot of people now who are knowledgeable about gun issues so the old manipulative emoting won't work any more.
