Subject: A sure fired recipe for increased productivity

Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY):

We (the government) should own the refineries. Then we can control how much gets out into the market.

As if the refineries are holding back product or operating at less than capacity.

The naivety is astounding!

Then again, if the government owned the refineries maybe Congress would recognize the need for new refineries.

Nah!!

Hinchey is a boob.  Nationalization of the refinery system would make a real mess out of an operation controlled by supply and demand.  Can you see the Fed trying to regulate production levels, and run them - much less where and to whom do we ship the fuel products?

The Congressional control of our fuel supply (domestic production, drilling, refinery etc...) has been a total disaster.

Instead of safely producing oil and products here in the US we send money to nations that hate us and move the products by ship through some of the most dangerous waters on the globe.  National security wise its stupid.  Its not eco-friendly nor economically sound policy.  A perfect example of Congressional management.

Good God he is stupid.  Retail price is at an all time high.  Profits are high.  Inventories are dropping.  Any manufacturer holding product back from the market in that environment, in ANY business, would be a complete idiot.  You hold back, if you ever do, when inventories are full and retail prices are low!  Hinchey is assuming every oil company is staffed only by morons.  What an idiot.

This explains why he's a congresscritter, I guess.  Not mentally qualified for a real job.

This bone-head is a member of the Natural Resources Committee and clarified his statement today by saying:

Hinchey, D-22nd Dist., laughed at the notion today and said he was merely saying that if oil companies refuse to build more refineries, the government should consider building some of its own to boost the fuel supply and help bring down prices.

?No, of course we?re not trying to nationalize the oil industry,? the eight-term congressman said in a phone interview. ?I?m just saying that if the oil companies choose not to build any more refineries, then they?ve got to be built in some way.?

I want to SCREAM!!!

If the oil companies REFUSE to build more refineries?

If the oil companies CHOOSE not to build any more refineries?

Then they've GOT TO BE BUILT some way?

How typical of a liberal/socialist/internationalist buffoon to blame the oil companies when it was liberal/socialist/internationalist buffoons that created the problem.

Create the problem, wait thirty years, then say -Hey Folks! I've got the answer!-

Idiocy! 8 Terms of of idiocy!

And the MSM looks at you through the TV screen and solemnly suggests this might be an answer to our energy crisis.

God help us all.
