Subject: Catapult question

I recently purchased Friedman's U.S. Aircraft Carriers and I have a few questions in regards to catapult installations that I don't believe are covered in the book. The Forrestal class were completed with either C 11 or C 7 catapults, whereas later classes of ships were completed with the more powerful C 13s; what I was curious about was did the Forrestal's ever receive C 13 catapults either before or during their respective SLEPs? Additionally did they or would they have needed C 13 catapults to safely operate F-14s later in their careers?
