Subject: Ticonderoga and Arleigh Burkes

I love the Spruance hull and the superstructure design of the Ticonderga Class cruisers. In appearence I love the Ticonderogas. But are the Arleigh Burke destroyers more capable ships? I find it odd that the US Navy has destroyers that are more powerful than cruisers. Are the Ticos really cruisers or just powerful destroyers or has the US Navy abandoned the traditional idea of destroyers and just want cruisers?
