Subject: What if: Philippines had become a US State instead of independence
xylene    7/27/2007 8:56:47 PM
What if after the Philippine Insurrection, nationhood aspiration waned and the Philippines decided to go the route of statehood instead of wanting independence? Had it happened would the Philippines today be a very different place? Would inclusion into the American system have negated the corruption and brought greater efficiency? Would security, sound government, rule of law, had created the foundation of what could have been one of the most secure and prosperous land in Asia. Had the Philippines become a state, it today would be the most populous and have the most representatives in Congress.
