As far as I'm aware, Zardari hasn't given up any of the powers that Musharaf accrued to the Pakistani presidency.  The real figurehead over there is his PM, Gilani.

AHOY, so the book thumpers don't rule? The locals wont the VCRs back? Who's hiding UBL and where? 50 million can't buy one book thumping Arab? The local put up with all the tragidies of war but when the Taliban start inforcing this Islamic shira they have crossed the line. Maybe the USA should offer 10 billion dollars in a 7 year installment plan. I think the author and regional expert Cole has a point by suggesting that the Pakistani government has alot to loss if UBL is found. G-day!

Indira Gandhi made a veiled threat to do so in 1971.  Nixon responded by sending a fleet into the Bay of Bengal.
