Subject: Cost of deployment and US-Indo alliance--Pentagon outsourced
Herc the Merc    12/8/2006 2:51:01 PM
Its apparent that the US is moving to a military alliance with India. With increasing trade, outsourcing, weak NATO allies and lack of manpower probably drives this. I do know Iraq is out of control, but say a contigent of 140,000 troops + air support was reqd. How much would India essentially "charge" for this deployment--it costs US $60billion per year(about)-that includes air support. I think for India it would be $5 to $10 billion per year at the same quality of services-if services like benefits for injured and maintenance are downgraded it would be well--very reasonable. I think this is the main thrust of US push for India alliane-after all if IBM & Microsoft can outsource so can the Pentagon.
