huh. i heard that the pakis refused to accept the bodies, INSISTING they were "mujahideen". interesting link. one part i found particularily intriguing (spelling?) was when the Indian commander and the paki commander were standing there talking, being hella civil. kinda made you think about the human side of war, both men have lost comrades, now coming together to honor fallen soldiers, etc. one thing i didn't get, though, was why our brave jawans were saluting the dead pakis. i mean, they came into our country, tried to steal our land, and certainly shot at, maybe killed some of our men. and they didn't do it in an honorable way. it was done by attempting trickery and deceipt. why, then, would you salute a dishonorable foe? a brave an honorable foe is one thing, but why a dishonorable one?
seen the movie LAKSHYA? bollywood movie about the Kargil war. good movie, i thought. there is a really interesting scene in there, where the Indian jawans are standing around some dead pakis, and the CO orders a burial detail for them, and one of his subordinates reminds him about the state that Indian bodies were returned in. all f***ed up. Well, the CO talks about how, if i remember right, "there is a difference between them and us and it should stay that way. This is the Indian army! We maintain decency even in our enmity." I think this clip shows a bit of that.
Well found
