Where does it mention that the "mobile platform" is a carrier?  Seems an unlikely choice.

I believe the target launcher is one of the ex-helicopter carriers modified to fire missiles.  The target launcher is described in other reports as a "vessel" off the Hawaian coast.  I think its the Tripoli LPH10.

That's no carrier.  That's a Through-Deck Helicopter Assault Corvette.  Sheesh, can you get your terminology straight, or do we have to hire a crack Anglo-Japanese team of naval architects to explain to you the delicate nuances of vessel nomenclature?  ;-)
