Subject: Yahoo and Tibet
appleciderus    3/10/2009 8:48:37 PM
I don't know where Yahoo learned its history, but Tibet did not revolt against Chinese rule. China invaded Tibet, committed genocide in Tibet, moved thousands of ethnic Chinese into Tibet to replace and displace Tibetans. China violated its previous, and subsequent treaties, with Tibet. Almost 60 years later, Yahoo is revisionist or ignorant to display a headline stating the anniversary of an "uprising". This uprising was an ancient culture defending itself from a powerful aggressive communist Chinese invasion. After almost 60 years of genocide, the culture and identity of Tibet survives in spite of the Chinese and Yahoo.

As an evil Chinese I would say that Tibet has been a part of China since the 13th century...i guess you could also find that in Wiki...
As for the genocide, have you been to Tibet once in the last 60 years? At least I've been there and talked to local people...actually I'd be happy if you could find a way to travel back 100 years and live in Tibet as one of millions of serfs under Dalai Lama or other noble people...
I hate the communist party for many things but not this one--killing thousands of slave owners and noble people to save millions--no matter it was for crushing the rebellion or whatever.
Btw, Tibetans did suffer from the mistakes and crimes commited by the communist party, like the cultural revolution--but we all did--all 56 peoples in China--it's not a racial thing.

appleciderus    Chinese baloney   3/15/2009 10:10:08 PM
The argument that China has a 13th century right to Tibet leads us to ask if Great Britain has a 17th century claim to the US, or the Netherlands a claim to South Africa, or Portugal to Goa or Macao. It is a ridiculous argument that implies a previous imperialistic history overrides ethnic, ethical, and legal rights.

The idea that an anti communist Chinese would claim that the invasion of Tibet was an improvement in the life of the average Tibetan lends credence to my suspicion that China is less communistic, and more imperialistic. The ?Middle Kingdom?, the ?Center of the World?.

Tibet is a victim, and you, yahoo, and China would rewrite history.

You know, one interesting thing is, even the Republic of China(Taiwan) still claims that Tibet is a part of China...
Right it's ridiculous, all Chinese baloney...i forgot that. You guys can judge anything from thousands miles away. I call that wisdom.
As for Tibet, my question for you is: have you ever been there? or have you ever talked to local ppl?

btw, I'd say that North Ireland is also a victim.

Or the Jews to the original boundaries of the Kingdom of Solomon, Arab delusional claims to the contrary. Irredentism rums rampant, like  Greater Aztlan.

It's all Chinese baloney anyway. You not only proved that you have no knowledge about Chinese culre, but also displayed a broad ignorance about Chinese history as well.

1. Tibet was a Chinese vassal of Mongolian Empire, and Manchurian Empire. Tibet was a vassal just like Burma, Vietnam, Korea, Ryukyu and Mongol (only to Qing). It was legally a vassal under ROC. KMT never sent soldiers to Tibet, and Dalai Lama kept running Tibet's own business, despite failed attempt to wiggle Tibet out of China. Fact is Tibetans ran Tibet proper by their own until commie occupation.

2. Mongol is now an independent country. Using Mongol conquest as legitimate territorial claim is not only ridiculous, but also idiotic. Under Mongolian Empire, Chinese were the lowest caste among all other people. Mongolian oppression was so intense, that a famous story of handing over operational signal "15th of 8th Month (of Chinese Lunar Calendar), kill Tartars" via stuffing inside Moon cake, have emerged latter.

3. Ming Empire never dominated Tibet. Tibetan Buddhism is very different from Chinese Buddhism. Part of the reason Dalai regime never allied with Ming is because Mongols, and latter Manchus adopted Tibetan Buddhism. The relation between Qing royal court and Dalai regime is best described as harmonious. British expeditionary troops never encountered one Qing soldier on their march to Lhasa. On the contrary, France had to send an army and a navy to peel Vietnam off China, and Japan had to destroy the whole Northern Fleet of Qing and almost annihilate Qing Army in Korea and Manchuria to get  Korea. This happened after the time when Qing realized that they had to consolidate their own empire after Taipin rebellion. Thus they commenced re-expansion and expansion into Xinjian and eastern Taiwan.

4. National interests is the real issue behind commie occupation of Tibet. Most Chinese won't admint, but the reality is reality. No amount of denial can change reality. Commie occupation of Tibet is everything about colonization, exploitation and annihilation/assimilation of Tibetans. It is morally equivalent to Spanish conquest of Central and South Ameria and Nazi expansionism, and it is regarded as barbarism since late 20th Century. Since moral is so degraded in China since commie taking over, I don't expect most extreme Chinese nationalists to change their minds. The outcome of Chinese moral collapse in history usually ended with popular rebellion or disintegration of the empire. Both always resulted in wide spread cannibalism and depopulation.

5. The official map of ROC is a joke. Funny thing is that we can't change the map, or we'll face commies to carry out their threat. Only idiots will take ROC map seriously. That map actually contains Mongolia, part of Kyrgyztan, Afghanistan and Burma as well. Northern Ireland is a victim of what? Protestant violence? Catholic violence? British oppression or simply a historic tragedy that can be fixed despite some IRA terrorists keep killing? Catholic, Protestant and British violence were the past, while commie genocide of Tibetan is still ensuing and intensifying.

6. And, finally, some of us do have some first and second hand experience with Tibetans, especially when Tibetans are sure we are not commie agents, extreme Chinese nationalists or anyone who will snitch them to commies.

Different people have differnt views to the history. In Zhubajie's case you have really showed your 'GREAT' knowledge of the Chinese culture. (Next time anyone visits China, please ask any local people if he/she thinks that Zhubajie is a bad person. Thx.)

Great. Indians ran American proper by their own until whose occupation?

Do you know inner-Mongol? btw, under Mongolian Empire, it was not 'Chinese' who were the lowest caste but the 'Han' people. Some of my best friends are inner-Mongolians actually. Today, if you could find anyone from inner-Mongol who believes he/she is not Chinese, I'd be surprised.

Lots of crap...just come here and ask local Tibetans, not the ones fleed with Dalai Lama who were descendants of slave owners, please.

Great point. Just like the Iraqi War is for freedom not the oil...quite convincible

Great, for all those ppl got killed in NI that's a 'historic tragedy that can be fixed' and people who survivie should forget it and move on--but in your mind it won't work here in China, right?
And as I said, you know everything from thousands of miles away. That's really fantastic.

Do-you-have?

You watch too many movies, dude.

1. There is no second explanation on who Zhubajie is, and he is not a person. He is a deified character in the novel, a lazy, greedy and lustious one. Very few figures in Xiyoji can be positive figure. Sun-Wu-Kon is a megalomaniac who think he's as great as Heaven. Sa-Wu-Jin used to eat people in a river.

2. Taiwan used to be owned by aboriginals, you know. Southern China used to belong  to Bai Yue, you know. Everybody still exist on this planet has dirty history, but it doesn't justify genocide today.

3. I actually met Mongols from Inner Mongolia before, they don't speak Chinese well. Some of them do hate commies for enforcing Han rules upon them. No longer can they live tribal style, and no longer can they live without fetters of commie law. Guess who they blame to: Han people. Also, Timur was originated in modern day Mongolia. Inner Mongolia was controlled by Jurchens when he tried to unite Mongol tribes.

4. Not one Tibetan is freed under Mao as well. Instead of being subjects of Dalai's lenient theocracy, they were made into de-facto slaves of the super slave state called People's Republic of China. Dalai's theocracy is less of two evils compared to commie totalitarian/colonialist/imperialist/exploitationist invaders. The fact is that Tibetans in Tibet proper had connections with Nepal, Sichuan's Tibetan area, Qing Hai (used to be Tibetan/Chiang area). You don't see them rebel against Dalai. Just a few month ago when Tibetans globally tried to humiliate Beijing's Olympic, Sichuan PAP had to reinforce in Chendu, which considered a major Han city since ancient times, in order to quel "disturbance" caused by Tibetan community there.

 5. Iraqis, Sunni, Shia or Kurdish, are now indeed freer then ever.

 6. The difference between Tibet and Northern Ireland is that, the former is state-sponsored terrorism aimed at subjugating and destroy a cultural identity which is different from Han since anscient times, while British measure is to quell violence between all parties, especially the terrorist element. Otherwise, Northern Irish run their own business, have rights to elect MPs in London, and have rights to elect their own MP of Northern Ireland.

7. In the age of globalization, only people under commie dictatorship think others are still as blind and as deaf as they are.

8. Yes, I have.

9. I don't watch movies anymore. Reality and history are more unimaginable then movies, and so are stupidity under immensive propaganda and censorship machine.

You are really fantastic, dude. Just come here and ask any local people please--basically they are heroes like Batman or Robinhood--of course Zhubajie is the most funny, greedy and silly one.
btw, it's not 'Xiyoji' but 'Xiyouji'; it's not 'Sun-Wu-Kon' but 'Sunwukong', it's not 'Sa-Wu-Jin' but 'Shawujing'--'Sha' means 'Sand', 'Wu' means' Understand', 'Jing' means 'Peace', btw.So, are you an ABC (American Born Chinese) who understands the Chinese culture 'PERFECTLY'?
Anyway you've really showed how good you are at the Chinese culture. Some of my friends have seen this discussion on 'Zhubajie' and they all laugh.

Great...I got your point. So after 50 years' of 'Genocide' the population of Tibetans rises from about 900,000 in 1950 to about 2.6 million in 2007?
Can you tell me how many states in US belong to the Indians and how much land they control today? Right, it's better to kill them 100 or 200 years ago since you can easily put them to the 'Dirty History' category now and confess to God--that won't bring them back to life to argue with you anyway so it's easy.

Ok, as a 'slave' living in this 'super slave state', I admit that I'm too evil for you because I don't want to be a serf living in Tibet 50 years ago.Btw, they didn't humiliate the Beijing Olympics actually from an average Chinese's perspective. Attacking a disabled girl in the wheelchair? That's fantastic and really shows how 'Peaceful' they are even in a morden western country.
Btw, dude, you have too many ideological stuffs in your mind.

The true difference is you call your SOBs 'freedom fighters' and other SOBs 'terrorists'--actually they are all SOBs.
I know you will never change your mind even you saw the girls & babies who were burned alive by the gangst
