summary:
Following a dramatic chase through the mountains of northern Afghanistan, KSK Commandos have captured Abdul Racik, believed to be a high-ranking Taliban leader. Racik is connected to several bombings, drug-connection and links to Terror-cells in Pakistan. He was in charge of Badakshan Province in Northern Afghanistan.
The Taliban-leader tried to escape into the mountains, seemingly because scouts reported the arrival of Bundeswehr helicopters. After a chase through the mountains, in which a Bundeswehr soldiers was lightly hurt, the suspect could be detained and was brought to Kabul this morning. Investigators have already issued a "solid" dossier to Afghan officials.
Spiegel comment : "The action of the KSK was symbolic, since it came on the same day the family of Sergej M, laid to rest their son who was killed on April 29."
