Good photos, thanks a lot to NGI.

You guys shouldn't throw away all your G3A3. That may come handy in those areas.

Didn't know about the G36-ish handle/sight on MG4. Any info on that one?

First recorded IED attack on Bundeswehr (at least that I have found) The IED could not penetrate the armor because it exploded in the gap between two Fuchs vehicles:

To the G-3 question:  I also find it unfortunate, but with the MG-3 there is still a good 7,62mm in action to support the infantry.  (they will not be replaced fully by the MG-4 because troops complained)

As seen here, the Fuchs armor has withstood the blast quite good, only 1 soldier slightly injured.

That is a local sign from a village about 30 kilometers west of where I live that hosts the Panzergrenadiere (and served from 02/ 04 - 11 /05 )

Chancellor Angela Merkel's government hopes to win a parliamentary mandate this month to increase troop numbers in Afghanistan by 1,000 soldiers.

That's the MG3 -- basically an MG42 in 7.62.  Don't know offhand of the ROF is similar or not.

As said, the German Army uses an modified version in 7,62 mm and 1200 rounds per minute (original MG42 fired 1500 rpm)

Wow, those are great pictures!

Are those German women hanging up on the wall?
And is that within regulations?

Great pics! Though i am a little curious... are those helmets PASGT or SPECTRE designed? Also, what are the troops views of wearing a helmet based on the old German WW 2 era helmet?

Compared to the old helmet, often referred to as "Pisspott" (Pissing Bowl) my impression is that the troops like the "new" helmet.  (Its not really new but was introduced after Reunification and NVA absorption)

PS: It makes parades look German again ^^
