| Hmm, interestingly strategy page ahs brought this up,a nd mentioned the TSR2, and managed to miss all the facts again!
The TSR2 was not underpowered, ont he first flight,they were only allowed to use 97% of thrust, later (it only flew 24 times, or 13hrs 9mins), it flew over mach 1 with only 1 engine working half properly 1/3 of afterburner on one engine).
And apparently it was under range, which hasnever been mentioned before.
And then we get the wrong reasons for cancellation (insinuating it was to poor performance), when it was due to Sandys white paper, cutbacks inthe defence budget along with spiralling costs.
