"Just over 6 hours before a photo of a Rafale was added to this thread. "

Did you really expect anything different?

I love how the fanboy's excuse is that it is a picture of a Gripen.... oh and there just happens to be a Rafale there as well...

""Just over 6 hours before a photo of a Rafale was added to this thread""

I was talking about the Gripen and it is a Gripen picture , you can also see the Rafale and the Typhoon ...

You want a Rafale picture , here is an old one :

- "You 're too close to France 's CdG ship , turn away right now" .

Quizz : can a knowledgeable poster tell what the fighters are and what year it was ?

Cheers .

It's actually  Yemen AF MiG-29SMT. The shot was made during a CdG deployment , where they exercised with the yemenitis. But I can't remember when it exactly was, I think somewhere in 2006 or around that time.

It's definitely NOT an SMT model....the SMT has a fat spine.

The yemeniti SMTs don't have the fat spine and were converted from the former MiG-29B. They are still SMTs, albeit the "T" acually refers to the fat spine. They are still designated SMT.

I just realized that you're right....although you'd think the "T" would be a dead give-away

"T" standing for fuel, I meant.

That's correct, the "T" actually means fuel, my reference was aimed at the fat spine as it features the additional/enlarged fuel tanks. I think they kept the SMT designation as there was an earlier MiG-29SM (9.13SM) based on the MiG-29S (9.13S). RAC MiGs internal designations for the SMT are 9.17/18/19.
