SlowMan    10/4/2009 11:44:49 AM
< link > "U.S. asks Japan to pay Y1 bil for fighter jet info Sunday 04th October, 10:53 AM JST TOKYO — The U.S. government has asked Japan to pay around 1 billion yen for information related to the capabilities of the U.S. F-35 fighter jet, a leading candidate for JapanĄŻs next-generation mainstay fighter, sources close to Japan-U.S. relations said Saturday. The U.S. side has also told Japan that Washington will provide information on the jetĄŻs stealth capabilities for evading radar detection once Tokyo makes a decision to purchase the fighter jet, the sources said." Well, the US DoD is pushing Japan into the arms of Eurofighter...

To put it bluntly gf , I believe that you 're a scarecrow . We 're on the Net mate , if you don 't talk about proper experience soundly , you 're no one . This is how the Net is gf and your arguments don 't hold water enough to be noticeable

you have my private email address.  send me an email from a govt address and I will send you my work address.  we'll then see who the cretin is.

again, you're an idiot.  stop pretending to be anything else.

I support anyone who has good common sense and slowman (this time) had some , not you .

Is it all you can find ? To put it bluntly gf , I believe that you 're a scarecrow . We 're on the Net mate , if you don 't talk about proper experience soundly , you 're no one . This is how the Net is gf and your arguments don 't hold water enough to be noticeable .
For quite some time (remember our different debates about MBTs , back in the old days around 2005) , I believed that you were what you say to be . It took me almost a year to understand that I was foolish to trust you . Whatever you do or whatever official fonction you have , you only have a superficial knowledge on fighters .

So please , don 't even try to lecture me on the F-35 or on any other fighter .

SlowMan and Bluewings, the two of you are the joke of this site.  For example, your inability to tell the difference between posters who are writing from personal experience and those writing from what they've read is truly lame.  I mean aside from your inability to tell what is the truth (and of course no matter who is posting, their content still needs to be valid)--at this point I'm just taking about figuring out who has lived it and who has only read about it.

Myself , I am very amused at the Japanese request . I know the reason why Japan is asking for infos on the aircraft and I also understand the stupidity of the Japanese .

Dear BW:

Can you tell us what is our stupidity?

Dear BW:

Can you tell us what is our stupidity?

Maruben
And the next reply from BW will probably say something along the lines of "its stupid because they should be asking for the details about Rafale, because it PWN's the F-35!"

I should apologise to truck drivers, as my intent was not to denigrate them.  take aways drivers and loggies and militaries go nowhere.

I should also point out that I have no problem in being corrected, and have no problem in changing my views, there are any number of people in here who I have disagreed with but accepted their position because they've demonstrated competency beyond google and wiki.  I object to these two twits because they pretend to be knowledgable and yet time and time again fail to demonstrate coherent technical competency.

what I object to is people who have prior "form", who have been exposed as liars, who don't understand technology basics and scrape the internet and present articles to pretend that they do, often without understanding the detail in an article, or the implications of technology sets as a system, or people who don't understand the logic of why and how systems operate, and those who pretend to be something that they aren't.  People who focus on platforms as though its some kind of 21st century jousting competition, and people who quote platform stats as empirical evidence of capability.

Those idiots have the gall to question people who not only demonstrate technical competency, but by the tone and thrust of their responses demonstrate more than the text book knowledge.proffered up by these 2  fan clubbing trolls.

I can think of more than a dozen people in here who I've either met when overseas or had verifiable and traceable correspondence with who have been pilloried by these 2 idiots.

go figure.

Well, Japanese F-X is technically an open competition, where all candidates must be evaluated and converted into score which must be released to the Diet later. Japanese DoD needs hard data to run this comparison, but was told they must pay $10 million to get that data, stealth data not included.

They want access to research information for free, as usual. There really is not much to "know" once you understand how their trade and industrial policy works.

I'ld guess that Japan has made their defence industry the next focus of MITI support. They want the F22 not because it is the best and most cost effective option available for defence. The want the F22 to use as shortcut in getting research and know-how for building up their own jet fighter industry.

As for Japanese stupidity, that may not be a match for the other stupidity that's out there.

Think about it this way, consider how much money the countries and companies that developed these capabilities spent, $10Million for data that may either help them with their own research or make them buy a few of the aircraft so they can try break into the systems? Its a steal, literally.

Slowkid, please stop and actually READ the comments.

The Japanese F-X program is open, yes we get that. But the JSF Consortium in NOT OPEN. You can't barge in and ask for technical information for free when all the other partners of the consortium have paid for such information in development costs, etc. This has been stated about a dozen times now in this thread by gf, what don't you get about that???
