Gents , keep in mind that I am talking about dogfighting capabilities and NOT BVR combat where the F-22 shines .

Cheers .

While I echo usajoe1's sentiment to every possible extent, I also note that you're right you certainly are not talking about BVR which is where the F-22 will fight (and everyone it fights will die) the great majority of the time, and you are not even talking about much of what's left which is WVR, since in the real world WVR combat actually by absolutely *NO* means automatically must only be tight twisting turning maneuvering.  In fact, you are talking about what will essentially never occur for the F-22 unless the pilot (and the rest of his fellow warriors in the fight) has made a gross mistake, and therefore I for one could not care less if the F-22 is not the most maneuverable aircraft in all possible situations.  Just as there are portions of the flight envelope where the F-18 is a better turning aircraft than the F-16, while there are other portions of the envelope where the F-16 is a better turning aircraft than the F-18, I imagine it is entirely possible that there are portions of the flight envelope where the Rafale or EF is a better turning aircraft than the F-22 while there are also likely to be other portions of the flight envelope where the F-22 is a better turning aircraft than the Rafale or EF.

Dogfighting ability is vastly overrated, and typically indicates the pilot is defensive and trying to correct a previous mistake or disadvantage.  It's great to have because when you need it, you are dead if you don't have it.  The best plan is to avoid needing it.  The F-22 can avoid it better than any fighter before it.  That makes it the truly best "dogfighter" of all.

Herald12345    I just wanted yo show you jet engine POWER you idiot    7/1/2009 9:29:39 PM

The video posted by Herald really shows that the Raptor is fat and slow , exactly what I said , an elephant trying to run like a sheetah .

The "back-flip" is as useless as the "cobra" in a fast turning dogfight , you loose ALL YOUR ENERGY , you are a sitting duck in the sky and the ability to rapidly point your nose is gone to the bin . Imagine a fighter chasing the F-22 (even with guns only) and the Raptor tries the trick : ouch ! The F-22 presents its back for a very nice 30mm burst and when you see the size of the target , even Ray Charles would hit .

Thanks for the ammo Herald .

Cheers .

You got nothing.

That jet can HOVER on its tail in controlled flight WITHOUT AFTERBURNER unlike a Sukhoi or a Squall (with all its doors closed by the way).. Think about what you just saw, you moron, AND THEN BE SILENT.

I ask this in half jest but can somebody be banned for stubborn stupidity?

"keep in mind that I am talking about dogfighting capabilities"

Keep in mind that you aren't talking about anything at all in the real world.  You are a complete idiot and a liar.

You are too stupid to even make up semi-plausible lies.

Why in jest?  He is a troll, and works to turn every single thread on this message board into another dumping ground for his Rafale related fantasies.

He really should be banned so the adults can have an discussion.

I have been posting on Strategy Page for over 6 years and I don 't think that SYSOP is seeing me as a troll , I wouldn 't be there anymore .
What I do here is simple , I try to educate some posters on the fact that the US hardware is not fatally the best hardware in the World , which always seems to be the case when you listen to some misinformed people . SP is full of US flag wavers .
I am also here to keep posters updated on the French hardware .
Btw , this is a F-22/Rafale thread , so yes I can speak about the Dassault Fighter . You are still free to read or not .

Some posters really like to call me names (cretin , moron , fu**er , etc) , when it happens I try to respond with calm and respect and I avoid using insults . I indeed sometimes use "clown" or "idiot" but it is as far as I go .
Back to the topic now ...

Cheers .

1) Actually, I think that Strategy Page will not remove BW simply because he generates traffic...

 2) It would seem to me that plenty of other posters do well enough at providing information on French hardware, to cover the extent of their interests.  If you feel the need to post excessive volumes of noise on French hardware, then why do it on a predominantly US (with a strong British and Australian presence) and not on a French website where you would be less likely treated as a ______________ -fill in the blank-.

3) Perhaps the most accurate thing you have posted, but isnt there already a 400+/- count thread dedicated for you and your favorite uber-plane?

I also participate in various French forums (obviously) but posting here on SP is important because of the amount of innacuracies and mistakes we French can read .
eg , with what Herald is posting (Rafale is junk , Mica is junk , half the MN is junk , Thalès is junk , etc) some uninformed posters could well believe the clown . So my presence here , it is as simple as that .

Cheers .

No you don't. You may try but you're systematically banned because frankly, you're an embarrasment for all amateurs of French hardware.

Problem is, while you're right the Herald posting is junk (e.g. he obviously knows nothing about the MICA IR seeker operation yet bashes it endlessly in the latest Typhoon thread), your inability to argue without ressoreting to massive exageration and baltant inaccuracies is sadly more effective in undermining your position than countering his arguments.

Blue apple , I 've never been banned from any French forums .
That being said , when and where I used exageration ? You tell me Sir .

Cheers .
