Subject: Can the F35 program be stopped??
cumulo2    6/14/2009 11:11:03 AM
It has been postulated that the F35 program be stopped in favor of F16 F18 legacy aircraft with increased production of the air superiority F22. Can this be done?? Has anything like this ever happened before or are we so commited to the F35 now that we are stuck with it for good or bad. Whats your opinion?

Those planes that you are referring to are not cheap, far from shytty, and not nearly obsolete yet. Have a clue about what you are talking about before you make such ignorant statements.

"Can the F-35 program be stopped ?"

Yes and it should but since the USA hate to loose face (like the Chinese) , some Nations are going to buy a dog .

Cheers .

Yep Herald , the F-35 is a dog and should be forgotten . Fitting a huge , thirsty , very hot running engine on a brick is not a good idea ... The various (?) prototypes can barely fly empty loaded without heat problems , they can barely do STO empty and less than 5% of the flight testing envelope has been done so far ! What a winner ! Hurray !!

Pfff ... what a waste of money it is .

Cheers .

LOL>. Yea, and when the F35 is in the hands of some ~10 nations in a few years, that will be about 5 USA aircraft that best your one clunker eh BW?? ;-)
Barely fly huh? Tell that to the F16 chase a/c, that most consider to be a very good a/c, that have to use AB just to keep up with the F35 in military power. ;-) Bet you French wish yall had a dog/brick like that!! Maybe you could sale something then. FACE it BW, the F35 IS the FINAL nail in the coffin of the Rafail. I guess I'd hate the F35 to if I were French.

R.I.P. Rafail and French fighter aircraft industry. You tried your best. ;-))

Beazz , could you please put your flag away and come back to earth ?
Your last post is nothing but garbage ...
And btw , the F-16 also needs AB to keep up with Rafale in military power . Do you want me to post again F-16 vs Rafale reports ?

Cheers .
