Subject: Rafale Thread
Softwar    3/9/2009 9:47:25 AM
Started with hope that BW will limit his comments here instead of in every other Fighter thread. I'll start off with:

1 - no export sales
2 - no laser designator
3 - no AESA
4 - overpriced 4th gen fighter

Since we all are a bit tense , let 's cool down with a nice video . The best is at  2:15min and after .
The real amateur will enjoy the fast ride . To this day , no other Fighter can do the square dance as fast as the Rafale , not even the Typhoon who is the closest so far . The F-teens can 't even pull the Gs at that speed and the F-22 never tried yet but I am confident that It hasn 't the needed acceleration after a full roll + a 45deg turn 4 times in a row .

You are powerless in the face of experts and the informed, truck driver.

I know you have an inflated ego and a false pride, but let me tell you this bluntly.

1. You have no skills in subject. None.
2. You have no knowledge on topic. None.
3. You have no truth in you whatsoever.
4. You have no honor or you would have apologized for your lies.
5. You are a disgrace.

Now you try to tell your betters that they have no right to speak this truth?

You are powerless in this. Understand? Knowledge is power.

You are on the wrong side of the equations, junior.

You sum zero. I have to be polite to the subject and to the person (forum rules), but I don't have to be polite to the ongoing lie that you insist to try to pass as the truth.

Rafale is a bomb truck armed with a mediocre A2A missile, dated avionics, an average self-defense jammer, and piloted by very good pilots who try to get the most out of an overhyped pedestrian Dassault aircraft.

You, as its defender, actually have done more to harm the Squall with your damned lies, than I ever have with the truth.

You should consider that. Maybe its time for you to shut up and listen?

The UAE are using Vipers Blk 60 (and not the USA , only Blk 52s) but they still want to buy the Rafale to be their main Interceptor , how do you explain that ? The fact is that during evaluations , our Rafales smacked the Blk 60s and the UAE learned the difference .

Well BW I don't see it that way at all. Here's how I see the *possible* UAE sale. Your president was over there on hands and knees begging for a sale. Even so,  the UAE does NOT want the Rafael as it currently is. They require several additions to it. Things that their F16's already got basically. They also require that France pay for every last bit of the R&D and any other associated costs to bring the Rafale up to standards. Then, on top of that, they also require France to buy back some 60 planes they don't want. Even after bringing the Rafale up to US standards, almost, they still will NOT buy it unless France pays to take the older a/c off their hands. You call that a sale, I call it France being played like a cheap fiddle.

Now maybe in your eyes that is an indication of how great your plane is. In my eyes it is nothing more then a nation desperate as hell to make a sell and that some lil 2 bit third world dictator nation has them by the gonads and quiet possibly trying to give France a chance to say no on their own instead of being told no like EVERY other attempt they have made to sell the jet. At any rate, it sure as heck don't make the Rafale seem like the wonder jet you make it out to be. Can't you see? Even the UAE does NOT want it as is and even after you spiff it up like their American jets, even then they want take it unless you buy up old planes they own? Tell me, how many other countrys you see buying all the old clunkers from customers just to get the sale and forced to add major capabilitys to their a/c as well to even have a shot at it? If the Rafale is even close to what you say, how come the UAE is not just saying yes we will take some and then buy them?

Face it BW, NO ONE wants the Rafale as is. Yea I know, every buyer nation on planet earth is just wrong lol Yea ok...

See ya BW

Beazz , I don 't think that Nicolas Sarkozy is on his knees . Not his style and far away from it .

The UAE want the Rafale because most of their Forces are already equipped with French hardware . Do I have to remind you that they are the most powerfull ground Force around with more than 300 Leclercs and many other French systems ? Do I have to remind you that it is the Rafale F2s who have smacked Vipers Blk60 and not the Rafale they want to buy ?
As I said earlier , it is a win-win situation , you want it or not . You are not French , you are not up to date with what we do and you are biaised . Sorry ...

Beazz , I don 't think that Nicolas Sarkozy is on his knees . Not his style and far away from it .
Never the less, your president was in the UAE with a sales pitch for your airplane? I don't recall any other presidents of a major western nation ever being a salesman for their products?

The UAE want the Rafale because most of their Forces are already equipped with French hardware . Do I have to remind you that they are the most powerfull ground Force around with more than 300 Leclercs and many other French systems ? Again you say that. So when and what exactly do you mean by *smaked*? If a competiton was conducted, apparently they were not impressed as I say agin.. they do NOT want the Rafael in its current condition. They do hwoever have 80 American F16's and are trying to get RID of the only French fighter a/c they have. All the rest of the UAE a/c used for fighting are American BW. Apaches, Blackhawks. Only French a/c besides Mirrage are utility/transport. I fail to see what UAE having French tanks has anything to do with the possible purchase of an a/c?  I show 105 French a/c and 167 American a/c. So it seems from a aerial standpoint that American systems is what they prefer?

As I said earlier , it is a win-win situation , you want it or not . You are not French , you are not up to date with what we do and you are biaised . Sorry ..

You see what you want BW. The UAE doe NOT want the Rafale in its current state. Biased or not, that is the plain simple fact. Are you disputeing that? If it makes you feel better to call it a win win.. well thats ok with me. It's your illusion and you are intitled to it. BTW, just out of curiosity, when was the last time the US had a customer tell them..bring your a/c up to our standards, pay to do it and when your done doing all that, you can then buy ALL the old a/c we wish to replace and then, and only then we will consider buying your a/c? I don't follow things all that closely so could you point me to the sale that had requirements similar to this. Matter fact, could you point me to the sale from ANY nation that had to succomb to those type demands in order to make a sale? Like I said, I don't follow these things all that close and I am just here to learn. So could you point me in the direction so I could go read about it?

Apparently, No one else is up to date on what the French do either BW. Maybe yall should work on that huh?

Look at that lovely aircraft , the F-15 Eagle :

(nice pic isn 't it)
I have been a huge fan since day one . The Eagle has been the best Interceptor the World has ever seen and it holds many records . It has a lovely shape , the pit view is excellent , the latest variant has an excellent radar and it can carry almost all the US inventory (!) . It is a BEAST . I love it :-)

But this is better :

It's foolish to cite the purchasing habits of ME nations as evidence for the quality of any weapon system.  Some of these are corrupt purchases.  Frankly I'm stunned Rafale hasn't sold well.  The French usually pay huge bribes.  I think it may have something to do with Iran's belligerence.  They ,may actually want stuff that works.  That means missiles that work and AESA in fighters.  Rafale offers neither.

Why are you confident the F-22 doesn't have the acceleration?  Cite some figures.
