| The Mig 1.42 is a non starter - it was killed off when the CIS govt "blessed" Sukhoi with the next generation of frontline aircraft.
Mikoyan would have to fund future development privately - and there is no money being generated except in spares.
The SU-47 Bewrkut is also a non starter - it was a CTD concept only
That leaves a clear winner - the SU-27x and Su-3n'xx's family.
Sukhoi have also indicated that investing in future manned platforms is not an effective way to stay in business - so it will be interesting to see what happens as their is no new russian airframe that looks as though it is the next gen replacement.
