it is indeed one hot point raised, ....that because pakistan is next , after iran and syria. but before we go on thinking who is next after pakistan, should not we have a break and think for a while what we are talking about. we already saw month long middle east conflict between a millitant group and one professional army. so sweeping even syria and especially iran in a one go as appeitzer for pakistan seems to be a far fetched fancy. US has not been able to get european support to ban hazbollah as terrorist group what to talk of attack on iran or even think of attacking pakistan in near future. If still some people think that india can attack pakistan when pampered by some big power. They are living in fool's paradise. india had no option but to take her army back of the border after keeping them for a year plus time. so i am surprised in which scenario some intellects see attack in pakistan materialzing in near future.

Actually, this grouping of Pakistan with the Middle East is a fairly recent phenomenon as far as I can tell. Most atlases in the US and Europe usually show Pakistan as being part of South Asia, along with India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan, or as part of Central Asia with the rest of the -stans. I believe the recent trend is the result of the West trying to create a comprehensive map of the "Islamic world" ie. a large swath of territory stretching from Morocco in the west to Pakistan in the east. Of course, this map usually tends to leave out the non-arab Islamic states of the Sahara and the Islamic regions of Southeast Asia (chiefly Indonesia, parts of Malaysia, and southern Thailand). Whatever Pakistan's religious connections to the Middle East are however, geographically Pakistan (particularly Punjab, and Sind) are most definitely part of South Asia. A map showing the Islamic world as including Pakistan is accurate, but one that specifically labels it "greater middle east" is inaccurate, as Pakistan is not part of the Middle East. -HoH

Maybe hes right Pakistan does have a strategic location on the world map especially since China is so ever energy hungry hmm gotta study on it ------------------------------------------------------- YES..please do a detailed study and post your findings here.many of us do not have access to quaran.

I dont think this is that big of a deal. Because up to the 1960's, Pakistan was a geopolitically on every map and according to US state department a part of the Middle East along with Afghanistan.

Only recently from the 70's onwards was Pakistan re-designated as being a part of South Asia as the bulk of her population lies on the eastern side of the Indus river. Now, 30 years later Pakistan is being re-assigned the region of the Greater Middle East which is where I feel it rightly belongs.

Pakistan culturally, ethnically and more importantly from a religious point of view is orientated more towards the Middle East and Central Asia. The country can lay claim to several regions as the country is located at the 'cross road' of Asia, Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East and as such can go either way!

I think this designation will prove more appropriate as the South Asian designation for Pakistan was more of a misnomer and the current designation is more appropriate and more importantly accepted by Pakistanis themselves.

Not some people, YOU FOOL!! Everybody thinks and knows that India can WHACK Pakistan, any time any day any where come what may. India has proven that fact four times before. SO come off your high horse and recognize the facts on the ground. Dumb wits like you who lost half their damn country to India cannot seem to get the idea even when spelled out to you.

Attacking and conquering Pakistan is a peice of CAKE and mushy and his cronies recognzie that fact and that is why they r running off to US and China to curry their favors!!!! ostensibly to keep peace in South Asia and get some handouts.

Army aint back. It is still there, ominpresent, to kick paki butt whenever, whereever, and however.
