| Just read in amazement in The Sunday Times (of England), page 2 of 10 October, that Claire Short thinks of Al Qaeda's aims as 'just'!!!! In an interview with Gulf News, the anti-Iraq-War former development secretary claimed leftist moral equivalence between AQ terror and the responses by US and British troops that resulted in civilian damage, alleging that it was deliberate. Furthermore, she quoted from some book written by a 'former US intel analyst' that says OBL is only trying to fight a defensive war for the sake of Middle Eastern religion and civilisation whose oil is being misused!!! (I think this book may be 'Imperial Hubris', from the same writer of 'Through our Enemy's Eyes.)
Now, is Claire Short displaying DHIMMI like behaviour? Does she believe that AQ's definition of an ideal society is worth preserving and defending? A culture based on demagogury, hatred of non-Muslims and the rigid implementation of laws written in the year 650? Aren't the Islamists themselves trying to bring back the days of conquest, slavery and colonisation which Ms Short and like minded leftists proclaim they are valiantly opposing? Does she believe that Islamist degenerates are the rightful owners of the Arab world's oil resources, and they should define who sets the trading conditions? Here is how they would set the prices of oil: discounts for Sudan, Iran and other Muslim nations that practice Wahhabbi style Sharia law, starvation for everyone else unless they convert to Islam, pay jizya to the emperor Bin Laden and his henchmen and give unconditional endorsement for a genocidal war of annihilation against Israel.
Short also equalled Iraq's insurgent-terrorist movement with France's resistance fighters of World War 2. Apparently she believes that foreign jihadis who murder Nepalese cooks as 'Buddhist Invaders', criminal kidnap gangs and former Baathists who would bring back Saddam era cruelty are the rightful shapers of Iraq's future, even if it means doom for the world if they achieve their aims of driving out the coalition and overthrowing the present interim regime. Perhaps she would still consider the daily violence to be legitimate resistance even if elections could take place? The degenerate Baathists and Jihadis have vowed that elections would not sway their goals of turning Iraq into a restored dictarorship or revived caliphate. Well, I say that they can be compared to secret child molesters who wish to get ownership of a boys' school!!!
Oh I'm sorry, was Ms Short simply expressing an opinion? Has she considered that if this country, England, was anything like the 'culture' that she says Bin Laden is justly defending, she would have been lynched as a collaborator by skinheads? In that 'culture' that she believes must be 'defended' by terrorists, few dare say aloud that the West or Israel are fighting to defend their livelihood, or that Islamist terror is unconditionally wrong. They may get shouted down as 'CIA agents' or shot. But Ms Short believes that this kind of atmosphere MUST be maintained, not replaced by democracy- maybe because it is too 'Western' or 'unfairly dominant', therefore upsetting the socialist utopia of equality?
One last assault I must add- she is one of those who claims that ONLY the UN can legitimise any war. I used to think the UN was great, but then the toppling of Saddam has exposed the rampant corruption that allowed Saddam's regime to buy favours from China, Russia and France against sanctions in exchange for cheap oil at the expense of the Iraqis who were meant to be spared the effects of embargos resulting from Saddam's quest for WMDs. So, opposing the Iraq war was not due to suspecting American-Zionist- Halliburton conspiracies- but the REAL profiteering at the expense of those innocent Iraqis anti war people insincerely speak up for!!!!!
Just how many people are there in the West who are willing to adopt the Islamist worldview hook, line and sinker and start grovelling apologetically for provoking the jihadi into an orgy of self immolation and head removal? Ms Short is not a member of the fringe Leftist elements, but formerly a major government minister. Do you believe that the jihadi commanders are snickering behind their long beards at how easy it is to cow Westerners into 'realising' that their way is the righteous path?
