Subject: Best British TV

What are the best British TV programmes on at the moment (or that have recently been on)? Only terrestrial TV, not Sky. In my opinion they are Little Britain (it's pure genius) and Green Wing (the best new sitcom i've seen for a long time) I'd value your thoughts Norvicension.

I despise the bbc for its bias against Israel and the US and its leanings to the left. However noone can match the bbc at comedy. Lokk at what theyve produced in the past - only fools and horses yes minister one foot on the grave monty python fawlty towers blackadder porridge steptoe and son the list is endless not to mention modern comedy, the office was brilliant (perfect ending dont make any more!) Little Britain is good Have i got news for you used to be awesome but its not as good without the wit of Angus Deayton in the chair (this is probably my fav show - buy the best moments dvd - its soo damn funny) I love British comedy and the bbc is awesome at producing it. Anything by Peter Kay on c4 is pretty good too. My fav shows that are still on are : 24, Have I got news for you and Malcolm in the Middle (underrated genius) here is a list btw of all the comedy programmes the bbc has produced link Nemesis

I loved Red Cap and Hustle, but can't stand Little Britain. Maybe it's because I am an Aussie, but I just don't think Little Britain is the slightest bit amusing. Woeful actually! I do like Dead Ringers, Big Train, Trigger Happy TV and other Pom comedy, but not Little Britain.

Forgot to mention Black Books. Bought both series on dvd. Ferkin hilarious. Bill Bailey is a scream.

Yeah, Black Books was an excellent series. The woman in Black Books (Fran?) is also in Green Wing which Norvicension mentioned, and is brilliant.(Even I was shocked at some bits....the mad counsellor (?) woman is my favourite) Little Britain is excellent(The humour in that may not travel though?), and is a similar kind of concept to The Fast Show.(Lots of quick sketches) The Mighty Boosh is pretty good, but quite weird.(Stick with it, you start to 'get it)

Apart from Little Britain which I think is weird (what's with the wanker in the wheelchair? Do you want to go to the toilet? No. Are you sure? Yes. Really sure? Yes. O.k....I need to go to the toilet now!) What is with that??? Funny it is not. Jack Tar - We don't get those other shows you mentioned, though. But I think I saw the Fran woman in another British show??

The series she is in is called Green Wing, and only finished here in the UK recently. Trying to judge how long the gap was between the first series of Little Britain finishing, then starting in Aus (got some friends in Melbourne), I'd say give it a month or two. Look out for it, it's excellent and quite shocking.

I went out and nought the DVD set last year for ser 1. My ex in London reckons that Ser 2 is on DVD as well, so I'm after confirmation in case she's confused. ;)
