www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1227869/Female-Army-medic-faces-Iraq-sex-assault-allegations-MoD-probes-33-new-claims-torture-British-troops.html OK, somebody needs to explain to me how a female British soldier "sexually abused" Iraqi detainees. The allegation is totally absurd, and I can't believe UK government and MOD put up with this crap!

All allegations, no matter how silly they seem have to be investigated to at least some extent.  In law abiding countries they cannot be dismissed out of hand, there has to be a lawfull process.  If they are obviously total nonsense then the first stage of investigation will knock them back fairly quickly.

This case could be a matter of reasonable medical attention (thermometer in rectum, raising nuts to look for lice) being interpreted in another way.
