Subject: Warfighter 101: The Guards
    4/7/2006 11:46:11 PM

BayonetGames announced the release of Warfighter 101: The Guards.
The Guards portrays the hypothetical actions of a British infantry battalion in
sub-Saharan Africa. A wargame of modern maneuver combat, The Guards uses the Warfighter
101 system, and introduces a new set of modular rules describing the integration of
civilians into the game. A common denominator on the modern battlefield, civilians
present many new challenges for today's armchair generals: friend or foe? armed or not?
moving or stable? These challenges and more confront The Guards.

The Warfighter 101 system is a classic hex-and-turn based wargame, with new twists on
zones of control and innovative reconnaissance objectives will keep players engaged in
on-the-fly tactical planning, not unlike real battalion commanders. New and forthcoming
modular rules sets allow players to increase or decrease complexity according to their
comfort level and available time. Warfighter 101 hexes are 1000 meters, and counters
represent platoons, sections, and individual vehicles; turns are 10-20 minutes.
In addition to the fast-paced rules, the Warfighter 101 system lays out its scenarios in
a format modeled after US Army operations orders, and the battle tracking charts are
designed to resemble military synchronization matrices - two authentic touches from a
designer with over 10 years of military service in tank battalions and armored brigades.

Warfighter 101: The Guards includes 2 double-sided geomorphic mapsheets, 3 scenarios, 2
blank scenario worksheets, battle tracking charts and reference cards, rules for
civilians, die-cut counters, and the newly-revised second edition Warfighter 101 system
rules. Additional mapsheets and downloadable forms are available at www.bayonetgames.com.
New content will be posted every week between now and Origins, building toward
BayonetGames' new releases at gaming's premier convention.

Warfighter 101: The Guards is available for $20 + shipping.

Warfighter 101: Movement to Contact is also still available for $15 + shipping.

All of BayonetGames products are available at www.bayonetgames.com, where blank forms,
bonus maps, and reference cards can also be downloaded.
