The new standalone expansion pack, Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday hit retail stores in the U.S. today, priced at $19.99. The game does not require last year's Hearts of Iron 2,
but is based closely on the grand strategic World War II game. Doomsday
adds a number of new features, however, including an expanded World War
II scenario with alternative historical outcomes, extended timeline
until 1953, a complete scenario editor, expanded tech trees, and
improved A.I.
In a change to the company's usual retail distribution methods, Paradox
announced that Doomsday had also been made available through the
company's new "Paradox On Demand" download service. Along with Doomsday ($19.99), the store also features Diplomacy, Victoria, Crusader Kings, and others.
