First off I agree with GOP, his post about how these threads are bullshit, you wanna know who is best....they all are, they all are,  (given few execptions 10% rule).  Their trainded in different fields, all specialze is something, they all are proud, and even more so should all be respected for their jobs.  To say whom is better is a joke.  And to you Medic 8492, if you were really in the teams as you say "The teams travel in small groups, not alot of slugging going on with us..." then you would have the knowledge of this, and you (because of all your intense training at BUD/s would be humbled, and not be talking about this stuff.)  All ya'll that claim to be this and that, the real man I respect, the one that is the best is the one that does his job, then goes about his business.  He doesnt talk about it, he lives it.  Breathes and dies it.  He is who is is because he has chosen that life, and doesn't brag about it.  Because if that is why he joined, to be the best, or to tell his friends back home that he is a SEAL, or SAS, or something else, then he definately will not make it through all the training to become what he wants, because what he really wants is to be better than the other services, and that is no reason to fight.
Now to all the wanna be's trying to figure out what to join, or you just llike talking shit, shut up.  Like I said if your joing to be the best, its the wrong reason so dont.

"They fought for their country.  They died for each other."

I cant remember where I heard this but I like that quote

This kid is making some sense, I have never met a member of the teams, or any other operator who ever spoke about what they they did. Nor have I ever heard Force Recon Guys or any of the guys I met from Fort Bragg ever compare themselves to any other SF unit, just isn't done...

Colt-look, Horsesoldier deserves to be talked down to, I read a bunch of his posts and not once does he hesitate to shit on the teams, if his knowledge was at least close and his tactical knowledge close as far as why they do what they do then I would say he is just of a different mind set, but time, after time, after time I have read posts by that cat and he does nothing but shit on the teams as almost a reflex action. I am not sure why he does hat but he does. As far as being immature or ignorant, well, I am expecting you to next say "Phffftttt!!!" with your tounge sticking out. While I may have gone off a little, and I did, it is because guys like him do nothing but spread bad gouge, guys like him will always be around but that does not mean I have to listen to it. As far as the ignorance goes, check yourself before you say that and look at my end comments, pretty on the money and based on interaction and expierence.
The guy who said this had it right though-
"They fought for their country.  They died for each other."
Everything else is just penis measuring :-)
Oh, as far as the Kamphschiwmmers, that is all they do really, they do very little on the ground but in the water they rock. They have a test in the end of there training that is a 20KM Turtle Back followed by a full combat dive against some really good anit-swimmer defence, SDV's are close but not as good, they still do other SEAL stuff as well and hence are not as concentrated on Combat Diving.

I'm a little new here, but wanted to share some of what I learned.  I posted a line to the question about Mountain Troops last night.  I was checking out the other boards this morning.  I was a Mountain Soldier.  We had a school we ran personel from all the services through.  It seems to me that compareing Green Berets, Rangers, and SEALS, Air Force Pathfinders, is difficult.  My experience working with them, is that they were all prefessional.  They all have different specialties, which in my mind makes a comparison difficult.  I'd also agree, that most of them don't brag.  Once you start getting aquainted with folks it's not unusual to share war stories, but it doesn't usualy involve chest thumping.  In fact the most interesting stories, in my mind, are the ones about when things go wrong.  That's when you understand what makes Special Forces "Special".

agreed 1000000%, the highest compliment you can pay to another operator is, to say you'd go to war with him, you never......ever say one is better then the other, because frankly, the guys who would get bad mouthed, would never be worked with again, your are either GTG, or you GTS

You sure do learn, in a hurry, the only guy that matters is the one next to you.  What he's wearin' for a hat doesn't seem to be real pertinent in the moment.

Exactly, Battle is among the loniest places that one can find himself, political and nationalistic aspirations tend to fade when your first comrade falls, and the person to your right and your left becomes all that you are aware of and care about. So when you think about it in those terms, the best specuial forces in the world are always those that you fight beside.

Sometimes, no matter where you are, it's just nice to see a friendly face.  Even if he doesn't speak your language.

Honestly, the REME is technically REMF's, as the definition of REMF is vague.

these are the guys who clear lanes through minefields and build bridges under fire.  they also make sure the plumbing and shower works in your forward camp.  probably the fastest way to id a remf nowadays is to listen for the whining about a bad internet connection hehe.

I think you are confusing REME with the Royal Engineers?

sad to say it's far from impossible yimmy that i've confused them.
