OK, I have had it, HORSESOLDIER is a complete idiot, no other reason I can think of for his complete ignorance on the teams other than maybe a team guys banged his wife.

Seriously, You bring up Panama? Do you even know the details about how the op was changed over 10 times on the way into the target by guess who!?! An Amry SF Officer! Yes, can you believe it? You bring up Naylor's book? Hmm...did you know that Sean never visited any SEAL training, selection, advanced training, etc...and still wrote that we should not do land wafare? I could go on and on about your lack of any real knowledge, but I will touch on one more-your "hose" with bullets comment. Now, if you had actually been in a combat situtation you might understand something called an IAD or as people who have been there and who learned from folks in Vietnam and now OIF and OEF that you "shock" the enemy upon contact so that you can get the fuck out of dodge. The teams travel in small groups, not alot of slugging going on with us, we leave that to the idiots who watch to many movies or who think they know what they are talking about.
HorsePoser, look, you should consider stopping your comments until you know what the F*!@ your talking about.
Even ask the Brits, who is the best in the US SOF Community and they will say the teams are, ask Gen. Daly, he will say the same, oh and he is Army. Pull your jealous head out of your ass and get at least a little more informed. I had the opportunity to work with every branch, every SOF group in the US and many, many overseas, as far as the best goes, the Brits were it for a long time, now CAG and DevGru are ahead overall, in areas here it is-
Combat Diving- The Italians and US SDV Teams
SDVs- The Italians and US SDV Teams
Land Warfare- The teams, the CanSOF and the Brits
CQC- DevGru, CAG and the SBS
MOUT/SOUC- DevGru, SBS, CAG
AirOps-DevGru
RECCE- Aussie SAS and CAG
Long Range RECCE-Aussie SAS, no one else is close with the exception of the Brits and CAG and the Aussie's still rule here
Mobility-Hmm...toss up here, tough one

Now, this is the key, the guys who are not in the top three, well, they are so close that is does not matter, it is like the NFL, on any given Sunday! Now HorsePoser, get some clues before you bad mouth anyone.

Honestly, the REME is technically REMF's, as the definition of REMF is vague.

these are the guys who clear lanes through minefields and build bridges under fire.  they also make sure the plumbing and shower works in your forward camp.  probably the fastest way to id a remf nowadays is to listen for the whining about a bad internet connection hehe.

Yes, yes, I agree 100%. The SEALs are definitely the best USSCOCOM unit.

Fixed.

I think you are confusing REME with the Royal Engineers?

First off I agree with GOP, his post about how these threads are bullshit, you wanna know who is best....they all are, they all are,  (given few execptions 10% rule).  Their trainded in different fields, all specialze is something, they all are proud, and even more so should all be respected for their jobs.  To say whom is better is a joke.  And to you Medic 8492, if you were really in the teams as you say "The teams travel in small groups, not alot of slugging going on with us..." then you would have the knowledge of this, and you (because of all your intense training at BUD/s would be humbled, and not be talking about this stuff.)  All ya'll that claim to be this and that, the real man I respect, the one that is the best is the one that does his job, then goes about his business.  He doesnt talk about it, he lives it.  Breathes and dies it.  He is who is is because he has chosen that life, and doesn't brag about it.  Because if that is why he joined, to be the best, or to tell his friends back home that he is a SEAL, or SAS, or something else, then he definately will not make it through all the training to become what he wants, because what he really wants is to be better than the other services, and that is no reason to fight.
Now to all the wanna be's trying to figure out what to join, or you just llike talking shit, shut up.  Like I said if your joing to be the best, its the wrong reason so dont.

"They fought for their country.  They died for each other."

I cant remember where I heard this but I like that quote

I heard that from several sources. What in particular makes them better than the SDV Teams?

I do beleive it was taken from a trailer from the series 'Band Of Brothers' on PBS, it applied to the men of E company 506th parachute regiment in WWII, but in my view should really apply to all the men who fought in WWII
