yes i know he gets a lot of mention on here (quite a popular fella), but since when did his real name get 'outed'? Mough, you needn't worry about mr. solicitor anymore.

Well I watched the movie and I could swear that he looks just like Sean Bean.  I think he'll be ok until his real name shows up on wikipedia.

Well there you go, someone to prove you wrong at everything.  I guess I should have checked before making unsubstantiated claims, assuming thats what your are talking about.

Seriously though, that's his name?  Not much of a pseudonym.

what do you mean not much of a pseudonym? hs real name's not supposed to be a pseudonym, as for his "andy mcnab" pseudonym, well pseudonym usually get pulled out yer arse, no real significance to them
although the 'andy' part kind of fits, he said he was told by his adopted parents that his fathers name was andy

Ok I think I have demonstrated I have no clue what I am talking about.  I looked through the wiki history and found something that agreed with the SM initials (which I assumed were his real initials) but I clearly was mistaken and in the process I have managed to confuse everyone involved.  So, disregard and carry on.

At least we can agree that he looks like Sean Bean.

must be brothers or something.
i had to be careful in the past, in typing some of my posts i would accidentaly put down his real name [as well as others] then have to go back and change it before posting, senility has hit me early i guess

well how bizarre, said name has been removed, once again throwing a cloak of secrecy over mr. 'mcnab'. i wonder how long this cherade will endure? i mean the muppet's willingly shown his face in public a number of times as mr. 'mcnab'. surely he understands those that 'wish him harm' [what a muppet] can and will connect dots [that is if people do really intend him harm]. it really is a shame as he was quite a likeable londoner.

Who would want to do him harm? I don't really understand. He's out of the 22nd, and is pretty unimportant nowadays. Just curious.
The real question is, when are the ex-SOF guys gonna catch "Chris Ryan" on "Special Forces: Manhunt"? He always does well at E&E. Bob, is he well likes/respected in the SAS community?

i'm clueless as to who would want to do him harm. i mean i've had meaningful conversations with staunch IRA supporters about my time during the troubles, and we left the table hands shaking. i'm not sure if it's 'mcnab' that states he has many enemies or some public image assistant that puts it out. but all it is is nonsense. 'ryan' was a resonable man [for a northern monkey], we got a long a lot because we were both always sand [went from the weekenders to the reg's in the regiment]. he was liked and respected [just about everyone was, it becomes a second family] but what opinion of him really is now, i have no idea. i left in 91', so i've got no knowledge of what opinion of him really was [i know people say he's hated, but i wonder if it's really true?] though i do believe published ex-members, aren't welcome back for visits anymore [not sure if that's right or not]. that's a lot of ex's not allowed back [no wonder it's gained the name special authors service.
