I do not know much about SEAL team 6, other than it is a SEAL team which specializes in CT operations. My question is this:
Why does the Navy need a Counter-Terrorist capability? All SEAL teams are capable of hostage rescue, and the only situations that will warrant a SEAL team in CT would be a hostage situation on a cruise ship, and all SEAL teams train for this. Delta is primarily made for CT/hostage rescue, and are very capable of fast roping out of a helicopter onto a cruise ship, so why the need for SEAL team 6?
I am not an expert at all on this, but it just seems to me to be a way for the Navy to get into the action in the War on Terrorism |
