How does the conditional statement have to do with the question? After you can explain what you mean, then others can reply properly. Displacedjim

I have him stuck in a clock on my wall, forced to "cuckoo" once upon the hour every hour under threat of dire punishment. I've been thinking about handing him over-- what's the reward money up to?

you're confusing operations with intelligence. SFs are operators. they rely on accurate intel to carry out their missions. Lacking that, they can poke at Afghan hillsides all they want, they won't find osama.

To even ask that question demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge about how things work. No offense.

Gixxx is right . Nevertheless , here is something you might not know : The Brit SAS had Bin Laden in theirs scopes in Afghanistan before tora-bora for 2 hrs , they reported and recieved the following order "stay on standby , wait for the US Marines to arrive , do not fire" . The US Marines never came . One of the many strange things about Bin Laden and the Bush Administration ... This infos has been given to a couple of Brit newspapers by the SAS ITSELF as they were so pised off . Cheers .

Why in the world did they even wait for an order? Why didn't they just shoot him and ask anyone who complained if they wanted him ressurrected? And who gave that order anyway?

When in Operation , the SAS is under the direct orders of the Prime Minister . Everything is relayed to him and He has the last word . So why they have been ordered not to fire ? " One of the many strange things about Bin Laden and the Bush Administration ..." Cheers .

I've heard a few variations on that story including the RM conering him, Aussies cornering him etc the only theme is that the US wants to capture him themselves and he then escapes. I wouldn't take it too seriously though unless there's a real credable source saying so (like Jane's or someone).

It makes me so mad that the world has had a half a dozen chances to kill or capture osama, but for political reasons it was never done.

I'm not so sure the world has. Or at least not while he's been a major threat anyway.

Re: "Hey if the UK & America have the best Special Op's Forces - Where Osama?" Answer: Probably same place he would be if America and the UK did not "have the best Special Op's Forces", unless of course they weren't good enough to decisivley help the Northenrn Alliance to over throw the Talibon. Re: "The Brit SAS had Bin Laden in theirs scopes in Afghanistan before tora-bora for 2 hrs . . . " I thought Tora-Bora was a location, not a point in time. Can you please convert the time "Tora-Bora" into the traditional Julian Calander and the 24 hour ? And where did the SAS have Osoma under surveillance this "two hours before Tora Bora"?

RE: "When in Operation , the SAS is under the direct orders of the Prime Minister . Everything is relayed to him and He has the last word ." That's one of the dumnest things I have ever heard! Does the Prime Minister tell the snipers where to position themsleves? I doubt it, I am certain that the SAS are allowed some initiative. The SAS probably worked under the American chain of command, either under central command or the Special Operations Command. The British and U.S do have a history (also both are members of NATO) of fighting side by side, and I am certain they have made more reasobable command and control arrangments.
