But I honestly believe, in terms of nationalism, the US ranks low, at least on internet forums.

If you look at how many conflicts/Missions the SEALS have been on and how many missions were a success I think you'll find that most missions had failed.

On the other hand the SAS are better trained for all types of missions and 95% are a success rate!!! I thank you.

Look you uneducated piece of shit, you are probably the last person to ever know about any "success rates" or who failed and didn't. Tell us about some of these SEAL missions that you know about, we'd love to hear your side of the story. Oh wait, you don't have a fucking clue what goes on inside NSW, SOCOM, or any other Special Operations units or Commands. "I think you'll find that most missions failed"? Give me a break. NSW may struggle with some missions (ie: Recce in A'stan), but those things have been noted by well informed sources, and those same sources would tell you that NSW has a very good record overall. It's when dumbass commanders want to use them for missions they weren't designed for is when the problems start. The Teams and your SBS train together a good bit, so I would question why the SBS would train with guys who are such "failures"? People like you who know zero about how things truly work are the ones on this forum I hate. Granted, I am not in the military in any capacity, however you won't see me spouting off about things I know nothing about.
Oh really, so the SAS has a 95% success rate? Hmmm, that numbers seems to have been pulled out of your fucking hat. So you can name everyone of their operations and tell us their success rate? So you have must have access to some extremely covert information about the SAS and their ops, so you must have even more information than the freaking Prime minister of Britain. Or maybe, their is a possibility that you are absolutely uneducated and threw a number out that sounded good. Which one? Well considering that most guys in the SAS don't even know their overall success rate, I'd say you are probably about as uneducated as they come.

I swear, some of you remind me of the types that go around saying "Ascertainment value" just to make you look knowledgeable when you are really way off the mark. Oh, and your welcome.

I should say that I have nothing but respect for the SAS, and there success rate may well be 95% or higher, but there is no way for any of us outside the community to know.

I must be crack happy, I don't see as many. Perhaps the reason is because non Americans can get away with saying anything, yet when an Amrican opens his mouth, he gets a thrashing for saying something not nearly as nationalistic as an Australian, Candian, or a brit.

GOP, why don't you come join us uneducated, arrogant yank thugs in the armed forces? While we may not have 95% success, we are trigger happy yokels that have a hell of a time blowing stuff up and killing women and children. You have to accept it, the brits and commonwealth are a special breed. They are a superior culture with superior morals, who understand foreign cultures better than anyone else.

I joined the US military, and with my poor training and my super high tech equipment, I am singlehandedly responsible for the world's problems. It's too bad their superior ways haven't rubbed off on us, but we're too busy drowning children to notice.

I would give anything for the chance to join the uneducated yankee thug military. I mean, even if we fail most of the time, like you say we still get to blow stuff up and kill civilians.
In all seriousness, there might be a chance for me yet. I went to my Doc yesterday, and my anxiety and heart issues are getting much better. Example: Last year I was on 50mg of Toprol (for anxiety and to kill adrenaline), this last checkup he took me down to 25mg. He said at age 18 your body will change alot in relation to my medical issues, and he forsees me being completely off meds by that time (in 10 months). Of course, my heart rate is low (due to conditioning), my blood pressure is perfect, etc. So, a waiver is very possible now if I'm off meds. I'm very excited, but I'm also realistic. If everything continues to improve then after college I'm going to try my luck at enlisting. If it doesn't work out, then I still have options in law enforcement. So needless to say I am very excited.

Although at this point, I'm not sure what branch I'd join. My goals have changed slightly, and I'm not sure if NSW is exactly where I want to be. There are so many great options in the military, so I'm keeping my options open at this point.

i must say, this has been quite entertaining, all these cherades and the such, i don't think i'll watch 'enders' or corrie' anymore... i'll just come on 'ere and read the best soap opera script of my life,
fudge i'm in the wrong line of work... i should make a tv show along the lines of these message boards
sort of soldier soldier meets brookside meets harry enfield
(though i'm not sure robson or gerome will play SAS sergeant fred (who's not really in the sas, he's sbs, but then alas, it turns out e's a bloody prat and is really only thirteen, but might go to the para's....... next year))

yet when an Amrican opens his mouth, he gets a thrashing for saying something not nearly as nationalistic as an Australian, Candian, or a brit.

you or need to visit the australian boards more often - often or not, anyone demonstrating nationalistic dribble will be shut down locally.

its seems to me that you have a greater issue about the commonwealth than some of the commonwealth has about americans....  , personally, when I quote on any australian military actions I will invariably use non australian sources so as to avoid parochialism or jingoistic claptrap.

we hook into the poms, kiwis and canucks just as much as we hook into americans- in fact if you visit the australian boards you'll see that we hook into ourselves more than anything or any other country.  anyone who starts to take themselves too seriously steps into wanker territory.

what gets my gander more than anything is anyone trivialising another countries effort -and thats a common vehicle of debate in here that is not just the special province of some americans.

I respect the navy seals and i think they do a great job at what they do which is maritime operations.Whereas the sas operates with four troops, the air troop, boat troop, mountain troop and mobility troop.Im not saying their better or tougher but can do a lot more operation wise.
