Am I the only one that thinks it is _not_ a coincidence that the recent foiled wmd terrorist attack in Jordan was timed to take place during the week of the International Special Forces exhibition and trade show in Amman. Its true that the exhibition was being held at the King Abdullah Air Base but perhaps it was intended to send a message. Certainly many of the key participants would be expected to be in the immediate area of the attack.

Of course, from an attack point of view it didn't work. But that's probably to be expected when the town is loaded with some of the world's best Sprecial Forces operators.

I haven't seen anything at all in the media about this and I'm not given to conspiracy theories but it seems impossible the terrorists wouldn't have known about the exhibition. It stands to reason that there would be heightened security during the week long exhibition. Yet they still went ahead with the attempted attack.

It does make sense that they would risk a lot to get a number of the top special forces people-maybe they were the target instead of the King?
