Subject: maximum military force australia could muster.

If Australia had to build up a large armed forces to defend Australia and dependencies from a hostile invasion. what strength force could we buil up. meaning divisional strength, number of personel serving, armoured units, naval strenght, aircraft numbers

true, but alot grow up to be centre-right; liberal party. and just because there leftist doesn't mean they won't fight for their country if it was invaded, frankly, i dont' think a person's political views are at all relevant when discussing if you are willing to fight for your country in repelling an invader. let's just hope we don't have to wait and find out hey. ;)

i agree with you entirely about todays generations being a teen myself however I would definatley stand up and fight for my country at the drop of a hat if the need be

Australia could afford a very large defence force. Australia could not afford a very large offence force. Defence forces are very cheap compared to offence forces. Delivery systems are much more expensive than warheads. A hundred nuclear mines in industrial targets would be a pretty good deterrent to invasion. 100,000 conventional mines, even. If you are worried about 'international public opinion', keep in mind that a mine is not a really effective weapon for invading another country, stealing their natural resources, and enslaving their people. I doubt that anybody in the entire world is worried that Australia is going to invade them, steal their natural resources, and enslave their people.
