Subject: RE:Visby vs Armidale - should we scale up and go stealth?

Mind you, if you think the Visby is small, what about the Armidales? I wonder if we could have built Visby's in Oz, similar to Collins? Obviously it is a moot point as at least one Armidale has been launched, however, with all the years of experience on PT boats, you'd think the navy would have gone larger again than just a slightly bigger Freo replacement. After gf mentioned Singaporean corvettes, I checked out their Navy, and they have several diff versions of fast attack corvette. They seem to have it together. I think Armidales are good, but I think the wealth of Oz and the abundance of natresources off NW Shelf (the reason for two extra Armidales), would be reason enough to get a flotilla of Oz-mod Visby's.
