Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said he was unaware Chinese security agents may have tried to infiltrate his communications systems during a visit to Beijing, as his government comes under fire over its ties with China.

Rudd and his traveling party were under constant cyber attack during the trip to the Olympic Games last August, with agents trying to hack into their laptop computers and mobile phones, the Australian newspaper reported today.

what a load of tosh.  he (especially) would have received a security briefing from DFAT about the risks - and they sure as hell would have gone through his gear on the way back.

I spent a couple of years re-imaging laptops etc from low level pubes who'd travelled into "less friendly" nation states - it was a matter of course.

the reason why he gets non standard gear in the first place is to ensure that the person in that role can communicate with relative safety.

he's being too cute by half
