Subject: RE:Iraqi WMD stockpiles located - in Syria/Bekaa Valley
COG    3/16/2004 7:42:03 PM
It was reported in the media (can't remember who, or when) that satellites detected convoys of vehicles moving from Iraq into Syria during our build-up to the war. I think that the intelligence agencies factually know these convoys were transporting the portable labs, etc. used to make bio-weapons. There are two possible reasons as to why they have not broadcast this: 1.) US intelligence has low credibility and thus it would be virtually impossible to get the necessary international agencies into Syria to ferret the WMD's out. In other words, the US intelligence community would be viewed as crying wolf. 2.) There is an expectation that war is likely between Syria and Israel and to broadcast this information would only heighten and accerbate tensions. COG
