| Obama proposes a surtax on natural gas, both in order to taise revenue and to help the green energy industry.
Natural gas futures have dropped a great deal since last year when they peaked at nearly $14 per million BTUs. Gas futures ar now down to less than $3.40 per million BTUs, and this has resulted in the cancellation of a number of high profile wind farms as being uneconomical. Obama will seek to raise the price of gas in order to make wind power more competitive. |
