Kim Jong Un is designated the heir apparent, and Kim Jong Il moves out of the seat of power. The transfer of power proceeds smoothly, and without any internal strife or external pressure.
It appears as if Kim Jong Il is in terrible shape. It looks as if his youngest son will be named to carry on the dynasty, although Kims brother in law will act as a "regent" until the proper time. The 150 day battle is also seen as a time frame for the transfer of power to the next generation. The feeling is that there will be internal strife, up to and including a civil war in the north. This prediction takes the opposite view; the whole thing goes off as smooth as silk. |
