They don't want to bench Rush.  They want to use Rush such up the oxygen other voices in the conservative movement could use to form new audiences.

 

They are driving up Rushs ratings. 

 

They also like to uses Rush as the standard for communication by conservatives.  Rush has a huge amount of mike time.  Thats not counting his conference speaking.  If you put him up against some one who is younger or work in a different field they look inferior to him on stage.  It's a way of holding GOP new leaders in an unfavorable light.

 

I don't need to mention Dems also love the idea that Rush is fat and white. 

 

This is another attempt to say there is no alternative to Obama.  If Obama fails America will sink into the sea.  That is a lie but a useful one for Obama. 

 

 

But a large percentage of people already believe if Obama succeeds, America will sink into a sea ( Perhaps one called world government).

Think about it. Obama/Pelosi/Reid destroy the private economy. They manage a federal government takeover of finance, healthcare, etc. Then after destroying all means of paying one off, they leave us with a national debt we don't have a prayer of ever paying off. And this after inciting one half the population against the other half.

 

At such a point, we would all welcome a takeover of the US by a world government as our only means of salvation.
