Afghan government will pressure the US to remove its military presence from Afghan soil. As the will of the US weakens, former allies will read the handwriting on the wall and weigh their options. Russia or an ever present and perhaps kinder and gentler Taliban may be seen as acceptable suiters in place of the US. Nato may remain while it looks for an opportunity for a face saving exit.
