We know that law making really dosn't work the way the law givers pretend it dose.  So we are quickly back to depending on the what the meanning of is is when we ask if O lies.  Well he lies but dose he lie more than we give him licence to.  Troop ship lies are OK but rigging election lies are not.  The middle ground is argued about. 

 

O could do two things that would win him instant credibility. 

 

When we want to stop sexual herassment or envirmental crimes or some kinds of false statments to the goverment we let private citezens sue the violator and then keep the punitive damages.  If O wrote a one page law that gave Americans the power to sue the employers of "informal labor" illigals he could then say with a stait face that he really wasn't playing a two faced game with imagration.  We would belive that he really wasn't lieing.

 

Abortion is subject to word games.  Rather than saying that no tax dollors will fund abortion services wile creating lots of new fee, preamioms and fines that are enforced with the power of tax lilke law but not called taxes  O needs to say that insurance companys that take goverment forced premeams will not buy abortions or at least will disclose that they do so people can take their preamions else where.  Then he would be more belivable.

 

But in the end it's all about the smile.

The tort to reform ratio is all tort and just enough reform to inculate the system from reform.  Revenue strems can be identified w/ political activety and trial lawyers do much labor for the dems.  They deserve the moeny.  Doctor, not so much.

Also O has talked about pannels of experts who would compair health out comes of treatment and determine the cost benifit ratio of care options.  This postponed the decision making until after the sighning party for the bill.  How many dollors are the last six mounths of life worth?  When your told that the difference between treatment one, treatment two or no treatment are indistingishable you want to know whos agenda the evaluation is serving.  Some on said, "death pannels" and O censored any refrence to experts from his none-plan. 

 

Also some discritions of the none-plane involved an 8% fine (note it's not a tax increase) on the payrolls of all those many many companies who don't provide insurance.  An 8% payroll tax increase will change the behavior of the rest of the ecconomie.  It will make it harder to hire new workers to name one concequence.  Think of taxsation as drilling for watter in a finite aquifer.  If I sink a well and pump out eight or nine hundred billion dollors that going to change the aquifer.  Other wells will produce less and shallower well will go dry.  Putting another tax on payroll will decrease the capture on the social securety payroll tax.  If you move the none-tax fines or preamieams onto a different point in the ecconomie like the individual you get simmiler effects.  Amitures think about tax rates and professionals think aobut the tax base.  Growing the tax base increases revenue.

I got an idea.  Progresive taxsation of corprote banks.  The level of corprote tax on a bank increases in propotion to it's gross income.  Sovles the problem fast.  Movement types like big banks because you can make deals with them.  Don't fund loging projects and I'll get you a date with my sister.  Fund that damb and I'll egg your house.  This is so much easyer than oing to the legeslature. Donate to my cause and I wouldn't complain about your bill payday. They want big banks but they want them vulnerable to "public" presure. 

 

Big finacual institutions have a big problem.  The ways to make moeny in stocks are to courner the market, get special information before other players and to get goverment favors (information, the sugestion that tax or regulator law might go your way).  Big firms look like they are better at all those things.  And if they blow up the goverment has a chance of steping in and bailing out.  Small firms can stop the goverment from eatting their prfit with a stoke of a pen.  Eating the profit of your small competition with the stroke of a pen is another one of the favors that big firms can buy from goverment.  All of this causes investors to feel that bigger is saffer wile prompting the bigger to take more risk than the small.  Then every thing explodes.

It dosn't feel like Team O is minding the details in Eastern Europe.  Did they rember the secret pact to carve Poland between Russa and Germany.  The Ukraine dose.  Russa has sent threatoning messages telling Ukraine to stop teaching such confrontational history in their schools.  Some how the Russians got O to dump missle defence plans on the 70th aniversary of the carving and then go O to say he didn't talk to Russa about it.  Just the kind of atmospheric former KGB types need to help them work into Ukraine.  "You think the American will protect you.  We already bought you from the Americans."

Brit Hume has sujested that the -personal wonderfullness- of O is a diminishing resource and that team O is over dependent on it.  This would imply that the continuing campain is spending the none  renewable resource of wonderfullness.  There is some truth to this.  Style can cover substance for only so long. 

 

On the other hand Team O is out sweatting.  They are working on a learning curve.  Pilots need to get experience before their luck runs out.  Can O and handlers get experience before the luck runs out?  Their Chicago/blue city skills were not as transferable to national terain as they expected.  Can they learn to get the substance right for the national audence before the style loses it's charm? 

 

More importantly can the Dem party be deconflicted with it's self.  Health care is hard but it beats talking about AG.  Is the Dem party governable?
