Standfast    RE:B-52 Action   5/11/2006 7:33:18 PM
From Standfast -- To Whom it May Concern -- There has been nothing in the US military inventory EVER that came remotely close to what the B-52 has done during its tenure. If I have read correctly, the last one rolled off the Boeing line sometime in 1961, when the contract expired. That's 45 years ago. And she's still flying operational missions. What an aircraft. While missions have changed, from Chromedome to Linebacker to whatever is cooking now, the B-52 is and will always remain an amazing delivery platform both in strategic and tactical terms. The B-52, despite her age, remains the grand old lady of the fleet. Should any past/current crew members read this, always know you will have my total respect and admiration.
